Or use the 'mode' buttons on the steering wheel to put the car in Sport mode... Sport drive mode includes the sport exhaust mode (loud mode)

:)
Good point, didn't think about that...this also changes the overall driving dynamics of the vehicle too though, right? Definitely another option but I'd rather be able to leave it in Normal for daily driving and flick a switch for the exhaust as I don't think I need any aspect of the car changing if I'm just running to grab some groceries (well, not all the time at least ). I'm mostly just griping because I like the toggle switches more than the push button switches, haha.

I plan to order my shelby with the Track package but that little small screen does not feel right. Anyone else feeling the same way? What are some options that I can do without getting the Tech Package?

Neat.

I'd be interested in a review - pros/cons of the Sync system that comes with the Track Package and the Sync3 that comes with the Tech.

I am pretty sure if you choice track pack, you can't select other options like Sync 3 etc. But the site is getting updated so maybe that has changed. You can also do aftermarket.
You can't which is odd to me. They should have an third option to upgrade electronics while keeping the Recaro seats and of course the drive line cooling. So far I haven't seen anything aftermarket for the S550's. If someone has please share links/info. I'm hoping for something like the Kenwood/iDatalink Maestro solution. Maybe that would even allow changing drive modes from the Kenwood touch screen. Though I agree toggles would be better and quicker.

I ordered an R, tech package is not an option.
Even if I had ordered non R, I would have ordered track package.:ford:
But there's an electronics package available on the R that gives you the Sync 3 and some other upgrades. I suppose that's how Ford wants to push people to the R but that's tough with such limited numbers.

I ordered a Tech Package but there is a thread where people have added the bigger screen in the base mustangs that works with the Ford Sync systems.
Please share the thread if you can. I've done some research but haven't ran across any threads on this yet.

It boggles the mind that they decided to put SYNC instead of SYNC 3 as standard equipment in the GT 350 to begin with, SYNC is old and crappy MSFT tech

There are two threads. This one which has all the gory details about the research and trial / error on the way to the solution:

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17935

And this one with the concise how-to instructions:

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31286

Note that neither of these is applicable for aftermarket units, and they are targeted to a MFT install, rather than Sync3.

So stupid.

Ford: "If you want recaros and sync 3 then buy the R with Electronics."
Me: Okay sell me one
Ford: "We can't."

I realized I had searched previously on another forum but then found these. Thanks for being cool and not one of those people who just says "use the search feature".

I don't really like the idea of piecing it together like they are doing in this thread. Good thing I have time to wait and even if I was getting a car today it's not like the radio swap is vital to my enjoyment of it. I'm hoping for something from either a major audio manufacturer or like American Muscle/Raxiom's solution for the S197's. Plus I would prefer to keep SiriusXM.

I have both threads bookmarked so it's no big deal to post them. :)

I'm also in the 'wait and see' camp. It could be nearly two years before I have my car so I'm hopeful that there are many options, or even ala carte ordering of upgraded audio in a TP car, by the time my build comes around. The biggest hurdle for aftermarket is obviously the close integration of the climate and audio controls.

I would be 100% okay without. I would have been good with the Track Pack deleting Sync, resonators, and the rear seats. I've used sync maybe 3 times on my current car.

That's why I'm really hoping iDatalink can step up and do something with Kenwood again. That's the best system I've seen for the S197 and the way I'd go if I was keeping my 2014. I have decided not to put any more money into my 2014 except where absolutely necessary and to have fun on the track. Which may include new tires and a second set of wheels and tires for track only. Those could possibly be used on the new car though (non R of course).
