What's going on here?

1) My dealer has included 'premium plates' which are a different size to those things, so they'll look even worse than those poo ones.
2) 50th anniversary grille? There's no mention anywhere of anyone in AU ever getting that
3) Tri-bar pony on the back? Ditto
4) Ugly plate holders - yeah, this gets a double mention
5) Those stripes - aftermarket? How are they on a car already?
6) Looks like the blade style spoiler? I don't like, meh, just confirms for me I don't want it :)
7) No splitter
8) Looks like something different on the side skirts? Picture too small to see, but looks odd to me

Apart from all that, I had my dealer check with Ford Australia to see if we were getting rear parking sensors and the answer was...YES!
Ian.
I genuinely hope that your dealer is correct!

Just been doing some research.

Here is a link to a listing of a US Competition Orange GT which clearly has the reverse sensors fitted:

http://www.paulmillerford.com/New-2016-Ford-Mustang-GT-Premium-Lexington-KY/vd/31585180

The window sticker is available to the right of that listing which has the Rear View Camera listed under Standard Equipment and Reverse Park Assist as a $295 option in the Optional Equipment/Other section.

I punched the VIN (1FA6P8CF7G5245689) into Etis and can see the With Rear Parking Aid & Rear View Camera-Fixed notations in the Minor Features area.

My order has not yet progressed to window sticker/build so am unable to compare the above with my build (which, considering the the unreliability of information contained on window stickers as far as export models go may not progress the matter in any case).

At the end of the day, I guess we can only live in hope that Reverse Park Assist is the equivalent of With Rear Parking Aid.

At this stage, my clothes are firmly in position.

:)

EDIT: Having re-read this entire debate, especially Polystang's reply with regard to the contents of Australian window stickers, I am now somewhat hopeful.

Relax folks, this body kit is an aftermarket option Ford Australia will apparently be offering - that's why it has that shitty lower lip, sideskirts and the large spoiler.

Correct about the after market option, but have the options been confirmed by Ford AU they will go ahead? Aren't they still in testing phase?

Nominating myself as a focus group. I hereby declare the kit to look like crap. It makes a 60k car look like a $9,995 used car yard dressed up special.
Calling it horrendous is being too kind.
The 50th anniversary grille looks fine as an alternative grille, no problem with that, but the front fascia, side skirts, rear spoiler and those ghastly stripes are total pants.

I am very confident that we don't get the sensors and will backflip naked and enthusiastically across the deck of the Parsifal if proven to be incorrect.
We'll hold you to that, with video evidence. I reckon you'll be on youtube soon!

I get that being a new model with higher demand than expected and blah blah blah, that the delivery dates have been a bit "flexible" and I know in my case I am one of the lucky ones compared to others. I am also really happy that we were not screwed on price as was expected in the beginning and I take my hat off to Ford AU for that, but the one thing I really don't understand is that these are currently on boats on the way to Aus, and we still don't know for sure what is included on our cars. That part to me is still something I can't get my head around......

ok I already said it was the Ford AU in the licence plate holder thread, but this isnt what we will get.

It has the Track Pack option, and testing some body panels, see those side vents at rear. more pics to come
Hi Quick duck,

Nice Pics BTW. Can you post a picture of the roof of the mustang please? I just need to know whether the pony has a antenna attached to it or not. I am going to order a set of stripes from Bagworm Graphix and I need this information for ordering that. Help me out :)

I guess we'll just have to see what rolls off the ship. I am very confident that we don't get the sensors and will backflip naked and enthusiastically across the deck of the Parsifal if proven to be incorrect.

The recent photo of a yellow ecoboost driving in Melbourne with traders plates clearly shows reverse park sensors. I think maybe you should start practicing those back flips:clap2:
