I totally agree about the morons and their driving when a Mustang is around. I stopped at an intersection planning on driving straight through. A black Tahoe SUV came up on my right in the right turn lane. Luckily, when the light turned green, I reacted slowly...as soon as my front end moved across the white 'hold' line...the idiot decided to turn left. He zoomed out in front of my brand new convertible (54 miles on it), and proceeded to cut me off. I bet there were only a couple of inches between his driver's door and my front bumper. Thank you Ford for putting Brembo's on my new car!

I think this happens to many people driving sports cars especially new ones. I'm pretty sure anyone in a new Mustang, new Porsche, new BMW M, new STi, new Vette, new Camaro gets alot of non-sports car drivers driving douchey around them.

I have a heavy left foot so I don't usually notice the nonsense. Most people are probably calling me the moron. With the kind of horsepower modern sports cars have If I want to get around a mini van or civic there isn't a whole lot they can do about it.

What's funny is they actually think they have a shot at a 5.0...i take great pleasure in dragging their asses at every stop light they pull up on me. Ironically I have lots of seat time in a really fast 06 sti. But it didn't have shit on my 550.

Your STi wasn't really fast then. I had a stage 3 SRT-4 that would eat a S550 for breakfast. It trapped 122 In the 1/4.

Well I believe you those srt4s are wicked. They are also pretty light unlike STIs and evos. My sti was quick off the line but that was about it. I'd say though you prolly had lots of $ in that srt4 to beat a bone stock 5.0 and with that we come back to the age old argument of what happens when you put the same money into a 5.0...

No doubt modding a rear drive V8 is the way to go! I just wanted a challenge and if I could get a decent time in a wrong wheel drive car with a 5 speed I was doing good. I'd say I had about 7 grand in mods in the old neon. Four of that was the turbo kit. Best time on slicks was 11.7. It was a ricer roll race monster but a tuned 5.0 on drag radials would have gave it a run for its money at the drag strip.

I actually had an Ohio State Patrol car pull up next to me tonight at a light and motion to me to drag race him. I couldn't help but laugh a bit and wave and then he laughed and waved. I think a lot of it is like others have said,people just want to see what this new car can do. My wife says it looks fast and sophisticated just sitting in the garage. :hail: :ford:
