Think I am in the same boat with your description. Higher rpm buzz through clutch pedal and shifter. Seems to be above 3500. Took it to the dealer a month ago and they said normal characteristic of this platform. Going to have the tranny fluid changed tomorrow morning to rule that out but yea I am leaning towards clutch. 7000 miles never abused or raced. Go figure.

Do I wait for it to go or just replace everything? Also rxt or rst. Im not FI but might go that route in a few years.

Starting to have issues with my clutch as well after my track outing Saturday. Also using the GT350 IM and shifting at 7800 or so. Started to get some slip on the gear changes during my runs and the car smells like clutch. Looks like its time for an upgrade...

Go rxt please, mcleod explicitly states the rst is not for competition use and in a n/a car you'll never have to worry about the rxt letting go

I've heard the RXT can be hard on the MT82 and dont want chance breaking the trans. What are anyones thoughts on a single disk like the SPEC 3+ Which is supposed to hold over 800lb/ft.

I completed it on my back in a driveway in about 5 and a half hours, with an appropriate lift and tranny jack (and no beer breaks) that time would be sub 4 hours

Same thing happened to me. I made the 3-4 shift and I think it actually went into second. The shifter came straight back but as soon as I released the clutch the RPM red lined and the back tires started sliding. I blame it on the extra torque from my Whipple and the soft transmission mount bushing causing the shifter to be out of alignment. I bought a Mantic clutch and the new Barton shifter. Mounting the shifter to the transmission will definitely get rid of any alignment issues. The clutch goes in Monday, I'll be sure to take a look at the stock one. If I had to guess it looks a lot like the OPs...

Seandale, did you get any clean passes, if so what did you run? You have basically full bolt ons right?

I do, but i had an issue post install

Longstory short use a vacuum style bleeder on the top of the mastercylinder and only use dot 4 fluid (sent a buddy o the store and he unknowingly added a dot3/4 fluid....basically i wasnt getting full extension of the throwout bearing and was getting locked out of third.

So with that going on and learning how to launch the car again, i managed a 12.06@120 with 1.9 60 on radials

With the throwout bearing properly serviced and my new bmr irs upgrades i should post a much better et
