Here's a cold start - Stainless works stainless power with cats into an arh h pipe cat back. I cut both neck down on lead pipes and cat back and had 3" flex connectors welded in. This is a cold start this morning from overnight. I can't get on it because I am still breaking in my RXT.

Help!

Well I think this is the perfect thread for me. I'm also considering these types of exhausts.

I may just cheap out and get the roush AB, but I was also considering a bunch of these exhausts based on what I was looking for:

**0 being stock, 10 being loudest setup possible on this car**
cruising: 2-3 (always want to know its there)
WOT: 5-6
idle: 2-3 (always want to know it's there)
drone: 1-2 (might go against my other points, but, I only want to know it's there a little, so minimal drone, especially for the gf)
deep tones

I'm having trouble deciding between these 5 exhausts
mbrp street catback

 • little to no drone
 • loud outside the car
magnaflow competition catback - $1200

 • deep
 • good idle

 • could be louder

 • drone might be too loud
MRT catback - $1000

 • · exhaust presence always there
 • · middle volume
 • · very little drone
 • read that WOT not very good compared to SW or arh?

stainless works - $1000

 •

arh - $1350

 • possibly everything I want as well, but too expensive
 • very similar to SW

These notes are obviously incomplete but I've been listening to clips of those exhausts and reading every thread on them as well. Anyone care to help me decide/fill in the blanks for my notes?

I'm leaning towards crossing off MF from lots of people saying drone is considerable, and ARH is just way too expensive. Let's say a dealer got me a good deal at $1250, that's still x 1.32 = 1650 cdn for me and including installation and taxes is rapidly approaching 2 grand.

Any others to consider? I hope not, this is already so stressful. I've also ruled out roush ab with h pipe, that thing is insanely loud.

Hey. Clevernickname.....yes, our dollar sucks right now but I pulled the trigger for the ARH cat backs!! Quality stainless work and it will be everything I want!! Install yourself.... Easy!! You'll be stuck with exchange any way you choose.

Or"............wait for our dollar to get better????

ARH is by far the best choice, in my opinion. All the rest still have that high pitch raspy european sound and drone!!! ARH has low deep tone and zero drone!!

I play the sound clip all the time!! I can't wait til Sunday !! Stop stressing and pull the trigger!

Husker went from SW H pipe to ARH H pipe and he said it was quieter and/or less drone

I have a full arh setup as of yesterday and, yes, there is absolutely no drone.

Well, this thread has me nearly sold. I'm going to pull the trigger this week. The ARH CB is the best sounding system to my ears so far, and the Hypermotive guys seem like they offer great support and pricing. They also carry the Corsa, which had been my first choice before reading this and a few other threads. I'm a sucker for the polished black tips, and I have yet to see / hear anyone doing the Corsa (Sport - which I think are the same mufflers used in the Extreme CB) AB with an H Pipe. The pricing isn't that much different and I think I could get a pretty unique sound. The only issue there, with Hypermotive is the UPR H pipe. I like the Lethal ones a little better.

Anyone have any insight into this, and how it might sound? I'm ready to flip a coin, but would love to hear from someone on this.

I had MBRP street (didn't like the rasp) and went to this cat back with SW longtubes and high flow cats. It's the best sounding car I've ever had now.

Why risk it I think you'll be hard pressed to find more than a few people who DON'T like ARH.

Don't be like me and have to do it twice :)
