I'm pretty much committed to Apex for a combination of reasons (weight, strength, no obnoxious branding, standard lugs, no spacers, hub centric, I like the looks of a few models, etc.)

So basically, SM-10s or EC-7s (pics below)

I ordered my car with factory nickel painted PP wheels (pic below). I want new wheels to be as close as possible to that color which for Apex would be Race Silver.

SM-10s are my first choice, but Apex discontinued silver for SM-10s.

They continue to make the SC-7s in Race Silver but I don't like the look as much as the SM-10s.

I'm trying to decide on which compromise: (EC-7s in silver) or (SM-10s in anthracite).

I can find lots of pics of Mustangs with silver SM-10s but very few in anthracite which makes me wonder why they dropped silver. And... the pics of Mustangs with anthracite vary widely in how dark the color looks.

Thoughts (or pics of light colored S550s with ANY Apex anthracite wheels)?

SM-10 (preferred wheel) in anthracite (not best color) from Apex web site:

EC-7 (2nd best design) in Race Silver (preferred color) from Apex website:

Perfect unobtanium SM-10 in Race Silver as God intended:

Ask @Chez for on car pics. He's got a wheel set in anthracite listed for sale. But now that I think about it, might be ec7

You just can't trust internet pictures.

These are obviously the same original picture of a GT-350 right down to wind-blown debris. One is described as having Race Silver EC-7s and the other as Anthracite EC-7s. Clearly one or both are photoshopped, which means who knows how accurate either is.

Well you obviously need to get in on the SM-10RS group buy and get some brushed clear wheels.

8-days to close on that group buy

One option is purchasing the style you want, then have them painted the color you want. Not cheap, but that's best of both your wants.

I checked when I first saw that but SM-10 and EC-7 in 19/10 ET40 are greyed out.

Anthracite is like a dark tarnished gray kind of color, it’s a really nice color IMO. If you really like the SM-10 design (which is my favorite of their designs as well) you can always have them painted later as others have stated. But I wouldn’t be afraid of getting the anthracite, I think it’s a color you’ll like once you see it next to or on the car

Well, I'll start working on my rationalization for non-silver.

Hey lazy me, ever notice Anthracite matches factory brake pad dust?

The VS-5RS looks great and the SM-10RS in clear does too, but the extra >$1000 over buying SM-10s is a big pill to swallow. The difference is basically the amount I was going to spend on suspension upgrades.

I am glad I wasn't the first one who was going to suggest it.

OP, the brushed clear looks amazing. I have brushed clear myself, same color scheme as your car. It is very close to the silver you are looking for. Just FYI, the brushed clear is a PITA to clean, and with the wider spokes of a non-forged rim, I imagine it would get even worse.

currently $400 off retail (and free shipping Inthink) with that Gang Up group buy, buy once cry once, but I feel ya, wheels are expensive enough already.

That would be great except there are no 19x10s in the group buy. They must not have had excess inventory in that size.

Apex has a thread going on here, have you mentioned it to them? They had an error on the 19x12's, and now 19x12's are available. They just needed someone to point it out. I suggest that only to say that maybe they have an error on the 19x10's as well?

My understanding of their group buy is that in order to get the price to the customer down, APEX places a huge order all at once, then do one mill run, which brings down costs for them. In turn, APEX can pass on the the discount. It's not that they have stock laying around. So if they don't have 19x10's, I'd guess there just isn't much demand.

I don't think SM-10RS or EC-7RS come in anything smaller than 19x11 at all.
