Has anyone used Plasti Dip for temporary protection against rock chips?

Just ordered from Amazon. $29.99 shipped for 8oz bottle and applicator. Worth a try. “Approved” by Matt Moreman of Obsessed Garage.

I used this on my RS and it worked pretty well.
I'd be more impressed by the video if the guy stood about 10 feet back and fired some rocks at it. Not sure I have to worry about screwdrivers, sandpaper, and spray paint while I'm driving. Big rocks will probably still get through it. I do like the roil on - peel off feature.

Unless it's different stuff, I'm pretty sure he hated that stuff. When he went to tail of the dragon all he did was say how nasty it looked.

Why not apply XPEL film on the front ? It will protect forever... and it's self healing stuff, pretty good.

It's pretty damn thick.

A rock big enough to damage the car would probably damage any other film.

Just got a couple "chips" in my self healing XPEL at track on monday. I don't think those are going to "heal".
I believe just superficial scrapes heal.

Yes, but it will protect the paint, right ? I mean if you want to protect the protecting film, just use blue painters tape; is what I used on the front when I drove the car home when I bought it... I don't care about the film, it's supposed to protect the paint...

Your wheels look great. Did you remove them and do the back as well?
I took them off and built a small temporary paint booth to spray them in. I masked the barrel off right at the inside of the lip. They came out really good. Like any paint project though, preparation is key in determining your outcome.

I thought about doing this as well (same color even!), but I saw some folks raise concerns about the heat from the brakes during track sessions. I see you're also in Texas - have you seen any bubbling/peeling so far? Wheels look great!
