My trunk light stopped working, but all other systems are fine. The fuse for the trunk light also appears to control other functions, all which are working correctly.

So they did the recall inspection for the rear camera and that is working fine.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

This may be too obvious, but how’s the bulb? It’s an incandescent that is replaceable and not an LED.

Update!

When Ford did the harness recall because it was too tight when the trunk opened up, they used a wire loom.

Everything continued to work great for about1.5-2 years, then the light failed.

An independent garage tracked the problem (from a wiring diagram I gave them), and found that the outer side of the loom pinched and eventually cut the trunk light.

Doing a little trouble shooting where the harness flexes at the trunk opening solved the problem. One hour labor charge and my trunk light (with LED bulb) works again!

Reach out to me if you have a similar problem on your vert.

Thanks

Wow, this is exactly why I declined to have the recall done. My harness looked fine and after other recall “mishaps “ with Ford, I told the dealer last month, “Thanks but no thanks”. Got a weird look, didn’t bother to explain.
