Anyone else prefer stock?

Love the stock look.
Tint is great also.
Slightly lowered looks even better.
Stripes are sweet as well, depending on the color and design.
Some wheels look very nice.

Not a fan of the aftermarket scoops, though.

But, even with some fake scoops, the Mustang still looks damn good.

The thing about stock is it's straight up boring and generic. Most people in the real world don't mod their mustangs and you'd just be one of them boring stock guys besides under the hood of course.
With that said, a stock looking car with a nice exhaust and power under the hood is humble sleeper and gets a lot of respect from people who aren't judging based off looks.

I prefer stock on the outside because in 5-10 year most exterior mods look horrid. I plan on doing just a cat back and maybe a light tint. My 99 GT only had exhaust and CAI. Also had a 87 Notchback SSP 5.0 with full exhaust and pony wheels. Notchbacks always look amazing and classic with pony wheels.

Yeah I joined this Forum to and then I got HOOKed on making IT myself .. Bigger headaches but fun ..
Definately bigger wheels and tires that match the Paint .. more contact patch is required for exilleration ....

Had to make my own hood struts and L brackets that turned out better than I expected ..I just laugh at the guys wanting hood struts but do not know what vendor or brand to buy .. shoot those guys do not even have a clue how to install them . Let alone how to fabricate an L bracket with a knipple for the strut to atach to .............

I don't mind the stock look. On my 91 GT this car looked so stock and sounded like it just had a catback and would run 15's. But you didn't know it had a turbo kit on it and run 9's. It was such a sleeper. Now that I changed setups I had to add a Cowl hood. But the rest of the car still looks stock.

Now on the 15 I love the stock look. But if they come out with a nice hood I wouldn't mind changing it out for a unique look. The only other thing I would put on the 15 would be a Roush rear wing.

Mustangs are easy to personalize,I see nothing wrong w a few ad on's
Rims,tires,tint stance...Just dont turn it into a ricer and we can stay friends LOL

I like that this car has a slew of older bretherin to cop factory R&R parts from. I cribbed the GT grille and splitter, not to mention a few hundred bucks gets a really nice Shelby steering wheel. There are tons of rims available too, just peep the Classifieds on here and you are bound to find take-offs.

This car already has so tasteful nice design touches you can definitely get away stock. Still a head turner.

I mostly love the stock look, I categorize mods 3 ways.

Lowest category Visual Mods that do nothing for performance.
1) Diodedynamics tail light sequencer. I saw it for 80 bucks and loved it
2) 20mm Spacers,, the wheels are just tucked to far into the body for my taste
That is it.

Middle category pure performance mods with little if any outward sign (with the hood closed at least)
1)Cobb AP with Adam's tune
2)MAP CAI
3)MAP FMIC (black so very stealth)
4)MAP catless DP
5)Mishimoto Catchcan

Third category Mods that do both!
1)CJPP Lowering springs (Base Springs are terrible, the drop is a bonus)
2)18 inch wheels and performance tires (Stock 17s and Hankook tires are just dangerous at anything over stock power)
3)Map Cat back Exhaust (looks better than stock and the Sound!)

So you can see, i did very little to the car exterior because, like you, I feel it is nearly perfect. the small touches make it mine.

For me the exterior is perfect, and mine won't change.

Instead, my changes will be concentrated under the hood. Wish there was more change in the furniture for that twin turbo kit.....

I've always kept my cars stock. Minor upgrades like exhaust and maybe some interior goodies but nothing that would be very visible. My previous mustangs had pinstripes but since my 2012 and up nothing major on the exterior. At this point trying to find a stock mustang might be harder to find than non-stock . Look how hard it is to find a stock fox body these days. Also mod ding my boss might decrease the value one day if I decide to sell.q

Just tint, springs, exhaust and cai (to clean it up under the hood). Oh I did black out the pony emblem, but you can technically get a blackout package from Ford.

I do like some of the custom Stangs as SEMA, but a lot are way over done and look like they're just trying to get attention.

Everything but the grill delete. I don't understand the look or purpose of removing the grill to show a stock radiator filled with bugs. Are stock radiators cool to look at now-a-days?

My pp will get wheels, because I don't like the pp wheels and they are way too heavy. The rest will be power mods, and some better shocks, stock height.
