3. The guy in those shots fired videos is strictly looking for subscribers, he really doesn't care about you or I, guaranteed!
I don't believe that is completely true. DD was blaming its customers for this issue. It's obvious from this thread alone that this can't be the issue unless we are all dumb asses. I should not have to fix something that I paid good money for. The factory incandescent unit's have no issues as far as I know of with moisture getting inside.

The delay in my replacement as it was explained to me was that DD is currently redesigning the lights. I'm guessing they have learned the cause and how to fix the issue with the current production lights, so that they do not have this occur again. If it weren't for things like this thread and that video you referenced being brought to the public, I don't know if DD would have been as quick to redesign the LED's.

With that said, its hard to get bent out of shape with DD. Their customer service is excellent, and I have yet to have them deny a warranty claim (Two faulty products). They have strived to take care of their customers and seem to be holding up to their 3 year warranty claim.

I agree with you, yes you shouldn't have to fix something you bought. But it basically boils down to poor design and a very common one among LED's. I guarantee they didn't just figure out the issue! They probably known for awhile and have been just trying to figure out how to redesign the housing and/or the connector...
As far as the video, yes, something like that may push a vendor to work harder and faster to resolve an issue. That's the only good I see, but that guy is so annoying! Lol..

But he does have a sweet Oxford GT! ;) Even if it's an automatic!

I also have found some of his tutorial vids like the GT350 wheel install and the Ford Perf. decklid install vids to be excellent. Even though he doesn't do ANY of the work, the videos are well narrated and beautifully video'd. The rest, well, its youtube!

Not received your replacements in only a month?

I told Diode Dynamics about my faulty led switchbacks, and it's been 15 months, no replacement..

Hrmm aside from what's in the videos on the last page being true, have we now lost the customer service with this company too? Has any of you waiting for replacements contacted them directly to see what the official word is on the holdup?

If you send an email to [email protected], we will have switchback replacements shipped out to you same day or next day. If you'd prefer to call at your earliest convenience, our number is: (314) 205-3033

We've never taken 15 months to replace anything, under any circumstances.

For those of you waiting for replacement LED sidemarkers, I apologize for the wait time. Our production team has been working on them all week and we expect to ship out quite a few within the next few days.

We appreciate your support and we are working hard to make sure you are all taken care of.

If you would like an update on your status, or need to request an RMA, please don't hesitate to contact us directly: (314) 205-3033 or email: [email protected]

Thank you,
Nick C.

I will have to agree with Nick on this one 15 months sounds bit not possible kind of scenario based on my personal experience with DD.
Replacement is pretty quick as long they have it in stock and the emails are also answered quite promptly.
I have been dealing with Steve and have to say, he provides good customer service and follow up.

My LED side markers are working fine so far, have them installed in 3 cars..will see how they work. It's only a couple of weeks since we finished installing them

Quite a few replacement sets shipped out today. I'm sorry for the wait, but we retooled the internals in order to safeguard against failure down the road, and it took some time to do so. Brightness, appearance, everything is the same, there's just more precautions now against any moisture intrusion.

Thanks,
Paul

We have a huge mustang meet Sunday so I was out cleaning the car today. Vacuuming the inside and preparing to wash it. While I was filling my buckets I realized I left the phone in the car so I hit the remote in the garage workbench and as I was walking to the car I was sad to see my passenger side is now showing bad LEDs. This happened in the last 5 days (When I last washed it) and we have had no rain. In fact its been a couple weeks since we've had any. This sucks. Contacting Diode Dynamics on Monday. Made washing the car a little less satisfying. Something I kind of enjoy doing.

Reading your last post here @ Diode Dynamics is it safe to say the replacements will be the redesigned model?

I'm sorry for the trouble. That is correct, all replacements shipping are the redesigned model with different LEDs and additional protection against damage from humidity. Thank you for your patience, we will most definitely get a new set sent your way.
