that’s roughly the same reason I purchased my mpvi2. The shift indicator, and shift points. I wanted the trans to stay in a selected gear longer if I was using the paddles in drive so I changed that, then I wanted to see if I could get the car to start in 2nd gear then from there I started really looking at all the other parameters and trying to figure out what it all meantHonestly I wish I had purchased mine years earlier. I’ve used canned tunes for my coyotes for years and a few things annoyed me. I finally bit the bullet, and just changing the idle speed, tweaking part throttle shift points, and turning on the gear indicator made it worth it even if I didn’t change anything else.
The gear indicator in the dash. Instead of having it come on just in paddle mode you can have it on all the time or just for sport or just drive if you wanted. Mine is on in both drive and sport. The tach turning read I believe is an option that comes with the pp1, but I could be wrong on thatYou guys rock!
what do you mean gear indicator or shift indicator? On the dash - the gear number lit up OR when the whole teach goes red and lights up?
Thats hilarious because I changed those very same things after turning on gear indicator and fixing idle speed. Changing Live-in-Drive from 3 to 6 seconds made all the difference. I got mine to start in 2nd when in sport mode as well.... The shift indicator, and shift points. not sure if the red light coming on is adjustable, but for sure Lund can turn the shift indicator on for youMy 401a package has the red dash lighting. I didn’t realize the gear indicator is a tune thing! I have a Lund - wonder if I could have asked them to add it. I can tell you that since I shift quite a bit higher than stock, the red light comes on and stays on for a bit lol. Is that adjustable as well through the tune?
no wonder I can’t find anything in ForScan to alter those...
I think I maxed out my lid timing at 20 seconds. I know it hold the gear for a super long time. The second gear start was cool for a while but I grew board of it. I actually tried to make it to where it would start in 2nd in drive but the car ain’t having it. Then for a while I had a modified version of the sport up shift schedule I was using in drive I just had the shifts happening a bit sooner than sport mode did, but after a while I got tired of that too so now I’m back to the factory skip shift schedule in drive and the factory sport mode shift scheduleThats hilarious because I changed those very same things after turning on gear indicator and fixing idle speed. Changing Live-in-Drive from 3 to 6 seconds made all the difference. I got mine to start in 2nd when in sport mode as well.
The tach turns red on the higher trim levels like 401a. My pp1 it does not due to analog dash.
Yes sir! I agree I've got no one to show me and two years in for the older gm platform and now I would like to learn my Ford. Fun fun fun! This is one of those things that take someone else showing you or You invest five years of your life and learning the language and still only know a small amount
