...that when the EcoBoost was first rumored to be in the new Mustang, the GM guys had a field day with it and were vehemently opposed to it ever happening to the Camaro. Many went as far as to say they would never buy another Camaro if that came to pass. Of course, now that GM is offering a turbo 4 in the 6th Gen, all is well and it is a wise choice by Chevy to offer it. Hypocrite much?

haha on top of that it is getting the EXACT SAME fake amplified engine noise through the speakers that the EB got which there were numerous articles about from the major magazines when ford announced it

With the Ecoboost engine we have both active noise cancellation, and we also amplify the existing engine sound order. We don’t create an artificial sound, we don’t pluck one off the shelf, we bring in the real sound, process it, and play it through the car’s speakers - Dave Perciak Mustang Chief Engineer

I do think it is a bit funny that their turbo 4 seems underpowered, especially in comparison.

I may hate the turbo 4 crowd but it is a big market...anyone remotely interested in getting a turbo 4 "muscle/pony" car will probably be more drawn to the extra 40hp of the Mustang. I don't know why GM wouldn't make theirs equal, and then maybe bump up the hp of the V6...

Dave was full of it. It's fake bro. Go on youtube and find the video cobb made on their on the fly map switching and you can hear it when the car isn't even moving.

You can call it noise cancellation or call it what it is. Doesn't bother me either way, I just like the way my car sounds

I actually like that GM did not skimp on the V6 the way Ford did.

GM just chose a different strategy, emphasizing the V6 but offering the T4 as a base model with better economy.

Ford chose to skimp on the V6 (clearly planning to phase it out soon), and instead focus on the EB4.

As a fan of N/A engines, I prefer GM's strategy, but Ford's is clearly working (and you may be right that it makes more sense, because it drives most people not wanting a V8 into the more fuel efficient EB4, which help CAFE). GM may get most people going towards the V6, which might not help their economy numbers as much (or maybe the lower power turbo will still be popular, and will help the numbers even more).

In any case, it is nice to see GM showing a little agility in the design, and adding the T4 late in the game.

It was like a recorded revving sound track which I assume is played at higher rpms so it probably isn't even noticeable in normal driving conditions.

Yes, but they're all hung up on the fact that Ford elected to make the S550 V6 an option for the base car and the turbo4 standard and GM chose V6 as the standard engine and the turbo4 as the option for the LT. Not sure why anybody gives a hoot, but it sure seems to bother a lot of people on the GM-centric sites.

I do think GMs line up makes more sense but it will be nice to know that a tuned EB can smoke 90% of the 2016 camaros on the road since most of their sales will undoubtedly be between the 4 and the 6

Lol it won't be as bad for the camaro because the 4 is a lot weaker than the 6 and it won't be able to compete with the 8 either

Ford did it right placing the Ecoboost over the V6. Sorry V6 crowd, but that Ecoboost is going to be a good seller over seas. It needed the extra power :)

It's going to be hilarious with all the 4cyl muscle cars with blow off valves riding around in the next couple years
