what ere they thinking

I`m placing an order for a 2015 Mustang Convertible in "Base" V6 Trim with A/T along with the standard 050A Equipment Package with the Spare Tire being the only add on Option, period! My two biggest complaints are (no) Sirius Radio availability and no choice for the Cloth Interior, only Ebony Black, uuuggg. Did they have to kill off the much more attractive lighter "Stone" Interior too? Race Red with a Black Top I can live with, but hot, lint & dust showing Black Fabric Seats, not so much.
You mean to tell me you can not get that med. sand stone interior any more?? Isn't that stupid? What were they thinking? That irks me to no end. That goes to show that black did not sell well at all. And may have a abundance of the fabric already bought from years back. I don't know.

I think its the opposite, the "Bean Counters" at Ford figured that a vast majority of Orders were for the Black Cloth Interior so they decided to reduce inventory and keep it simple to one color. The Fabric used "Ebony Black" for the 2015 Model Run won`t be the same that was used in prior years so that getting rid of old Fabric Inventory is not the case. Other then "White" I hate Black Interior almost as much. My old 1994 Mustang that I Ordered in Rio Red similar to Race Red had Red Fabric Interior! They discontinued it for the next year, 1995 Run. Back then, you could also order the "Top" in either Black, White, or Tan, now its only Black.

You know the 2014 v-6 is L@@King better everyday, the stick shift with the performance package $22,618.91 out the door with dads retirement at Ford called the Z plan, $4786.00 off the purchase of the 2014 local dealer quote.

Now this is the base model with the performance package being the only option for the said OTD quote. Also had two other quotes. Base model with a stick no options,$20,747.41 OTD. And $2177.41 OTD with automatic. Also had a quote for a premium v-6 list $30,670.00 savings $6,971.60 store price $23,698.60 difference tax 709.77 no fees total cost out the door 24,424.87 drove this one had 32 miles on it, automatic black leather with white stitching in the bucket seats shaker stereo and Nav. Blue tooth and everything else for 6 months trial offer. It nearly everything except moon roof.

Disappointing. The V6 get less power and worse fuel economy than in previous years.

Maybe I need to get fitted for a tinfoil hat, but I posted this in that thread.
I felt disappointed too. I was really hoping/expecting the 2015 V6 to have at least the mpg of the current V6.

Ford changing the rear axle ratios from 2.75 to 3.15 accounts for the one or two MPG loss of Fuel Economy with the V6. A new improved Intake Manifold along with the improved performance of the 3.15 rear axle ratio will more then make up for the alleged 5 HP reduction and overall Performance should be as good and probably better then last years 2014 Model (without) the "Performance Package" that was previously offered and no longer available.

$22,618.41 OTD 2014 with performance package choice of stick or automatic available with my dads Z plain. Cuts close to 5 large off the OTD purchase. Butt, your looking at yester year's technology. Still a great car at that price for sure.

I'll test drive the four and V-six & the V-8 as well 2015's. And judge by my ever reliable seat of the pants, built in dynamiter we all have. My wife to back me up with here stop watch from 0-60 and 1/4th also

There is little doubt, if your looking for the most "bang for your buck" grabbing a leftover 2014 with the close out Incentives and the "Z" Plan is the (Deal). However, your getting the old generation Mustang. Regardless whether you judge either (buy or by) the seat of your (paints or pants) only you can decide if the savings is worth it. As the saying goes, you pay, you get, you don`t pay, you don`t get. For me, its a no brainer. I want the 2015 Mustang Convertible!

Food for thought, hopefully.

2014 Mustang V6 MPG: 19/29 manual, 19/31 auto.
2015 Mustang V6 MPG: 17/28 manual, 19/28 auto.

The 2014 V6 all have the same city gas mileage, while the auto fares better on highway than manual.

For 2015 V6, the manual-auto comparison is different. They all have the same highway mpg while the auto rakes in better city mpg than manual.

Your comments?

I think Ford is being cautious with its projected MPG Ratings. They got burned pretty bad by CR and the Media for their projected average of 47 MPG with its C-Max Hybrid. I got (2) Checks from Ford, first for $550 and another a month ago for $475 as compensation. On the other hand, my 2011 Ford Fiesta SE Hatchback (exceeded) the EPA Milage estimates. I got 33-35 MPG City and 41-43 MPG Highway from day one, go figure?

I get in a hurry some and do not edit, thanks for the info. "My bad" Yes the discounts for yesteryears tech verses the all new 2015 tech. and !#@$^% I am?!?!... I've got to test and weigh out the long, and the short of both, to for see if I can live with one 4 years or more, and be happy with my purchase:headbonk:. You and I both want the best possible layout of the perfect car the first time around. A year or so down the road and have no regrets or say if only I had waited I could have got this and that. It might happen anyway??

Myself also seen that on a dealer website, often try to remember which site I saw it on. You know that was then what about now the price hast to be lower still yet. It might be that dealer that will not advertise claiming prices to low to show. I bet I can find it, let you know if I do!
