I'm debating whether or not to pick up a set of winter tires for my '17 GT350. I have another car I can drive if there is too much snow on the ground, however I'd like to drive this as much as possible during the winter here in Indiana.

I saw tirerack has sottozero serie II tires in 285/40/19 on close out. Will those work with the stock GT350 wheels? If not, any other decent options at a good price? I hate to spend $1000 on tires to use for a couple of months when I have other cars I can drive.

Also I read from multiple places that Ford Performance actually recommends 255/40 and 275/40 for winter tires on the stock GT350 wheels. Anyone tried this or can confirm that they will fit properly?

I'm currently running the 255/40 and 275/40 with the Blizzaks LM, it's a performance winter tire. This was the only tire I could get from tirerack in that size. It fits, but the front tire is stretched and is the smallest size you can run on the front wheels.

Do understand that a lot of the handling and traction characteristics of the car are limited. These tires like to roll, even though they are performance tires, traction isn't all that great. I've only had normal winter tires in the past, so I'm not really seeing much of a benefit of this over normal winter treads. Although in my area it hasn't really dropped past 30 degrees (F), which is where winter tire do perform well.

You can do as you wish, but at this point the 350 will only be put away for three months, you can start playing in March.
