After visiting 2 dealers today (making the last one #3 so far), they finally agreed to what I considered to be an acceptable trade in amount. Of course it took my sales rep no less than 6 or 7 trips and 2 hours to the sales manager to get everything to my liking. Long story short, I'm getting X-plan, all applicable discounts (1.99% over 60 months + 1000 Costco), plus a trade in value which I deem as "fair". They really wanted to get me to sign papers...multiple times, and I kept making my sales rep go back over and over to get it just the way I found agreeable. Either way, I'm about 3-4K under MSRP and saving 4200 over 60 months vs. the "standard" 5.69% interest rate, plus a positive value of about 4700 on my trade. Basically to end all the negotiations I took the deal. Might have been able to get maybe another 1000 or so, but I didn't really want to drive all over the city.
This dealer was pretty shady too as they weren't correct on the pricing a few times. They stated they can't get the X-plan price since they don't have a VIN as I want to order the car with specific options. In place, they used a car with another $400 in options above mine, and will adjust the numbers once they pull X-plan on my order. Is this true they can't get the X-plan price without a VIN?
I guess at this point though all I really need to fight at the time of receipt of order is the document fee (which my sales rep didn't know or couldn't answer if Canada is capped at $100 like the USA or not), plus whether or not PDI is included on the freight/delivery fee? I forgot on that one. Just trying to avoid any after-the-fact cost adders.
Thanks guys!
