Another question would be is the extra 3 (or more) weeks of aggravation worth the $500? My EDD was 12/03 and now it has vanished along with my counter, if I could find my exact model for pick up on Tuesday I'd eat the $500, but that's just me...:headbang:
I mean smart thing would be to wait. But what is 3 weeks now, could get delayed / potential risks of QA/QC..That is what I'm afraid of, it getting stuck in awaiting shipment like a lot of other ones

I'd say go look extremely close at the one at the other dealer. If it's a stock order/Early build it could have problems..
I know for a fact once I see it in person , ill not be able to resist haha unless I notice some big flaws..

Go check the one out 2 hours away, if you see any big panel issues or something you don't like about it then it's simple...just wait for yours.

Go and get the car, there's absolutely no reason to wait.

I'll assume you handed them a check for the deposit or Lein on C/C.
Simply contact your financial institution, whether it be the back or card company and cancel that transaction / check. (Stop payment on that check)

Their holding a blank check as it stands right now. It was never their money, It (500) would have been used toward your purchase had you bought from them, If you choose.

judging by the post on this forum, the ordering of this car has been excruciating for most here.
What fresh hell is this...

You have an opportunity to rid yourself of this touture, get that car!

^ that is what I really wanted to hear!! Thanks man. So even though they already charged my debit card, you are saying I can still call my bank and cancel that transaction? (Since they are still holding it?) I put a deposit in July btw..

Yes you can cancel it, it's a "pending" charge.
You haven't paid / bought a thing from them.

Since you put that deposit in, has it shown as a bill to you on your statements, it shouldn't.

They have no rights to your money. Your deposit is only a retainer not an installment.

Check it out, see if it looks okay. Take the advice then from above and try to recover your deposit. If there is anything wrong with the one currently on the lot just wait for your order. Your dealer has had nearly 4 months to deliver and still hasn't come through and you gave them $500 in good faith. They should have worked harder to keep you.

I called them and asked them, they said they can't. I'm so close to pull the trigger on the one that's available at another dealer ahh!
Tell the other dealer your situation and see if they knock off $500 or make a couple calls for ya and get you the car that's ready.

+1 Seems like a no brainier to me and totally worth the 2 hour drive. If it's perfect and they'll do x-plan then the OP wins and gets the car three weeks early which is worth the potential $500 loss IMHO. If there's a problem, then wait for the built one to get delievered and have no regrets.

I hope your dealer is giving you X plan if they are keeping your deposit
