Looking good.

How hard was it to remove the covers?

Today got Leathal H pipe welded in, hood rain catch removed and a few dings repaired before going in to ppf
Patrick: The car looks great and I hope the film installers do you a solid. However, pardon my intrusiveness but little things jump out at me in photos on occasion and this was no different. Curiosity got the best of me and I'm wondering..what was the the little torch used for in your detailing setup? :-)

No idea, that picture was at the guys house that did the dent repairs. And as far as the torch does, he didn’t use it but while I was there I was kinda wondering the same thing. I’ll have to ask him

Some times pdr guys use heat(torch or heat gun) to warm up the paint. It helps keep the paint from popping off the panel when manipulating it to remove the dent. It in essence lets the finish flex and stay adhered to the panel during the process.

Makes sense. I would be arfraud to use a torch. Maybe a heat gun but I guess if you’re good at what you do, heat us heat

Actually a torch is easier to control because you can see the actual flame. I know it doesn’t sound logical. Lol

I watched my PDR guy from a distance and the torch was used to heat the end of the tool, so it could soften / separate / get further into a repair that was needed on the border of the door protection bar, that was bonded to the door skin (I asked him afterwards) :like:

Scored an NOS steering wheel and an unused factory car cover today. Only paid $400 for both. I think that’s a good deal. The wheel that was in the car was very worn down and had seen better days. Honestly didn’t know the stripe at the top was supposed to be white. My old one looks grey. Also ordered some floor mats that came in.

What a Great looking Snake,bro.
I admire your preserving this baddass ride,Texas Style.
I have the tail light covers similar to yours, and dont like them because they are too hard to see in the daylight.
My old eyes are enough problem, but way too many of my fellow mountaineers get WAY too close to me at stops.
A bit more info on removing yours if you please.
This thread is a joy to read.
Best regards,Tex. Dave F and Frosty

Thanks for the message. I had to use a very small flathead to get and edge pulled away from the housing. Once I got enough pressure the lenses popped off one by one very easily. Letting the car sit in the sun and heat up the tap holding the covers on would also help the ease of it coming off. My buddy told me when following me he could barely see them so that was enough for me to pop them off. Dont need a reason for someone to rear end me

Good evening .I removed my tail light tint film this afternoon when the sun was on back end.
It wasnt difficult to get it going and all came off well. It was a bit of a challenge to get the sticky off, but good ol Goo Gone took care of it.
I like the look way better, and hopefully will be more visable to others.
I'm really digging your ride.
Back in 2020 I was looking for a Shelby of some year, and just about the time I was getting serious, the prices went apeS--t and I found Frosty on a Chevy dealer lot and bought him.
Not sorry I did. Ireally dig this badass ,auto tranny and all.
Best regards as always.
