Another audio questions, sorry in advance

I have custom speakers, 6 speaker base stereo. All upgraded, amp to the speakers, 2 subs with an amp and one of those tesla style 10” display head units, the sound is terrible it’s very difficult to tune to a decent audio profile

I was going to try the ACM command line changes can someone verify what values I specifically have to change to disable the EQ or flatten it, and enable the sub And amp upgrade.

I know this has been asked several times in having trouble finding someone with all speakers upgraded with amps and subs with amps

my last ditch effort before I rio out the Chinese head unit and buy the premium ford head unit

i already installed everything, all new speakers with amp, and subs with separate amp just trying to confirm the forscan values for my system ?? Any idea

Try a 4 or 6 channel amp for the speakers that has DSP and auto calibration. Like the kicker key200.4.

Just make sure you can return it if don't like it.....worst case it will tell you if it's a calibration issue or something deeper.

You can run kicker 500 DSP with auto calibrate for sub. One member tried it here and was happy.

You don't have a Ford head unit if you have the "Tesla" style aftermarket unit. You can't use Forscan to change the sound as the module is not there.

Can you describe what it sounds like? "Terrible" is a little vague.

Do you have DSP and it's calibrated?

I don’t have a DSP, just called crutch field they recommend the speakers got all speakers replaced and an amp for the speakers, and also have 2 10” subs with amp

the head unit may be the issue I thought I had to adjust the forscan but I guess it makes sense it won’t help if it’s uninstalled wasn’t sure if it was part of the cars info or stereo?

What would make it sound better to you? Is the sound harsh? Is it lacking bass? Do you hear the vocals clearly?

Do you know for a fact you have all the speakers wired with the correct polarity?

If I tune the speakers through the eq on the headunit it sounds good at high volume trash at low volume like the bass isn’t in existence at low to med volume only max and then god forbid I click radio the sound is in an entirely different galaxy, I bought the harness that converts the sub box and amp spliced into the factory cable I think I have that rigged to something else that I’ll fix but the 6 speakers I upgraded just sound terrible. I spoke to an audio shop they told me these tesla head unit from china only output 1-1.5 amps wearas the ford headunit a output 5amps but I assumed that would be negated by the fact that I amplified the new speakers

Your head unit is feeding the amp a signal, maxing out around 1V-1.5V. The Ford head unit can output a clean 2.7V, but regardless, you have to set the input levels on the amp so that around 1.2V output from your head unit the amp is at or close to full output.

Where are these dials set to approximately (like what clock position)? 6V is going to be less gain and 0.2V is going to be a lot of gain.

Both level knobs are about halfway from left or clockwise

The DSP is everything. Auto calibration with mic like home system is best next best is a DSP and hire a pro to calibrate.

If the headunit has RCA outputs (or even better optical digital output) almost any DSP will work with that headunit as allmost all DSPs have RCA inputs.

Just another tip... you should redo your wiring on the amps as one of your pictures is showing open cables without any isolation. This can potentially burn your vehicle down. So please add another layer of heatshrink or at least some isolation tape to this.

If the DSP fixes my audio quality the budget is limitless, but if it still sounds like trash and determine it’s the headunit than I’d rather put money towards the ford oem premium head unit that’s 1500.00 programmed and thank you I’ll fix that asap

Well, tbh i think the Tesla style headunits are cheap chinese trash. Some people have good results with it though, but anyway. A DSP is needed either way to achieve the best possible sound quality. Driver independant time alignment, equalizing, crossovers and levels are needed for achieve that and a DSP gives you all that (plus, the higher your budget is, the more features above that you get). The Ford ACM and SYNC3 has some noisefloor, but is otherwise a nice solution imho, as it integrates into the car perfectly (obviously ).
But as you already have the Tesla style headunit, why not just add a DSP and start to set up your system the way you want and check if it gives you the sound you want? You need to buy the DSP anyway. ;)
Tesla-Headunit --> DSP --> amps. Then you need a microphone and RoomEQ Wizard.

Check the Kyle Ragsdale videos on how to use REW. He uses a Helix DSP, but the general workflow works with any DSP (minus the advanced features of a Helix).
