Android vs. Apple

You should keep an eye out on new iPhones coming in two month's time. They will both have major camera improvements. Also a new Samsung Note 7 will be announced Aug 2 and new Nexus phones coming soon too. Lots to choose from!

All will have major improvements on current iPhones and Galaxy phones. (Faster, more efficient, improved cameras).

I have been Apple for past 8 years. Never owned a Android phone for more than 1 day. This $1000 Apple phone has big camera problems. And Apple cannot fix it. I might wait for the new Iphone. But if wife can teach me how to use the Samsung phone I will probably get the new Note.

I like having sd card slots in my phones. Apple bends you over for 100s extra for a few gigs of memory space. I have a 64 gb sd in my phone for all my apps and pictures/ videos

I will. It will take a lot of positive comments from my wife. So far she likes it. I am sold on Apple but after 8 years it might be time to change.

I am buying her a 200GB memory card IF she decides to keep it. We are paying $90 for that card. Apple would charge us at least $400 for that much memory.

There really isn't that much difference in the actual bones between apple and android when you get down to it, unless you are into modding your OS with new ROMs, or Jailbreaking. It makes calls. You have apps... you have an app store for new apps.. etc. But overall I just like the flexibility of Android over Apple. There is just a lot more that even the most basic user can do and have access to.

I have a lg g2. I'm old school. Really buggy phone. And the top portion of touch screen doesn't work anymore. I have to rotate phone if I want to click on certain things lol. I think I may upgrade to a g3 soon haha. It has a removable battery, sim card, and takes better pics. I don't think the lg tech advanced too much from the g3 to justify a g5. I couldn't go back to an apple after these

Yeah the new Note looks to be quite impressive. I'm looking at that, the upcoming Nexus, and the iPhone 7 myself. I just sold my iPhone 6s Plus and am just waiting to see the official presentation on each before I decide which one to get.

At the moment I'm leaning towards the iPhone 7 because I prefer the music sound quality on iPhones and it looks like it will get even better since they are rumored to be replacing/removing the headphone jack for even better sound.

Neither of us knew anything about it, and right away it became an endeavor in constant frustration for her. A couple of years later I started a new job and they provided me with an iPhone. Then the battery on her 3S turned to crap and she had to start carrying two batteries at all times. It finally got to the point where she needed a different phone and she went with an Apple 6 plus. She has been much happier with it than she ever was with the Samsung phone.

The S3 was a notoriously bad phone. That model was plagued with issues

It comes down to which operating systems you like. I tried Android very early and found it to be clunky and buggy. Went to Apple and found it to be elegant and easy to work.

Stayed with Apple and haven't had any trouble doing anything I wanted to do. Couldn't care less who innovates what, as long as it gets the job I want done, done. Would switch just to try Android but once you get established it, it makes no sense to :headbonk: yourself for nothing,

I'd also add there is more to the ownership experience than just the device. The support network makes a big difference for me (and my family). There's an Apple store < 30 minutes away, I can setup an appointment and get outstanding direct support from a store that supports the device (the hardware *and* the OS), backed by the company that manufactures it.

I also appreciate the eco-system, cross device integration (from OSX to tvOS), tight, consistent design language, etc. I fire up apps, use them, I don't need a lot of OS variation to make the device a highly effective personal and professional tool.

I've been in the technology sector for a _long_ time, developer, architecture, author, worked in web, mobile, computer vision/3D , I've owned about 30 different mobile devices - in fact, still do some dev work on Android, mostly in the VR space - and my primary go to device is an iPhone, no contest.

I have a Note 5. Honestly the one thing I would want most in my Android device in order for it to be perfect is an Apple feature.

Why do you need iMessage? Back when text messaging was an additional cost it made sense but text messaging comes as part of all phone plans at no additional cost and iMessage uses your data.

The big reason for imessages is that you can send much higher quality photos and videos through that system, than other text apps. BiteSMS used to have a pay server option that let you do that, but unfortunately it isn't supported in the newer OS.

I've had an iPhone since the first gen that completely changed the way people expected a phone to operate. I'll more than likely always will own an iPhone too. Resale values are awesome, and I love iOS. Android is awesome as well, but has some features and designs I do not like. Like others said, really comes down to what OS you like more. Plus I like supporting an American company when I can versus Samsung which is the only company I'd buy an AndroidOS phone from.

Agreed. Love iMessage. Much more fluent in the flow of sending/receiving messages, read receipts, typing icon, delivery receipts etc.
