What about if someone puts the larger R splitter on their car is that banned also?
Yes, they will be banned from the awesome pureness of owning a totally stock Shelby hoping one day they will worth more than the owners paid for.

Personally I don't care what others do.
I have modded Mustangs in the past, I never tried to make them look like something they were not. I did try to make it handle better, go faster and look different than any other Mustang. I never wanted to be a wanna be with a car or anything else in life.
But as with all things, each to their own :)

I guess we should go back and commence with water-boarding of all those Fox body mustang owners who put 93 Cobra taillights on there cars. Or do we start with the 93 Cobra owners since Ford just reused those lights from the old SVO Mustang. How many Fox bodied cars had Saleen or Cobra wings. Oh my this is getting ugly.

To me I would rather see people useing factory parts than making parts from plywood (see below) or getting some Walmart and Pep Boys decals to add.

How the hell does putting a wing from one Mustang onto another disrespect anything? You guys are delusional and need to get over yourselves. LOL at pecking order. It's a fucking Mustang.
Wait I forget the same guys complaining are the ones with the build and delivery dates in their signature like it means anything. I guess they need to feel special.
Preciously. I don't get the whole disrespect thing. Like poor people can't have nice things because they are poor?
I agree mis-representing is one thing but other than that, who gives a fuck.
Are 289/427 Cobra replicas "disrespectful"? Are 1960s Shelby Mustang clones "disrespectful"?

They're just inanimate objects. Any asshole with money can own a new GT350. Simply buying such a car warrants no respect, so it's not possible to disrespect the cars or the owners.
This thread is starting to derail fast.
Wow..... it has gotten to the point around here where you can't post an OPINION any more without somebody taking offense. Knit picking every word and reading their own insecurities into your words. The personal attacks and name calling always follow. I never said I was owed any respect because I bought a Shelby. Too much time spent here bitching about the damn cars. Go drive them! Think I'm taking a break from this for a while.

All kidding aside, I don't see why people get all worked up over badges and body parts. There's posers and wanna-bes everywhere you go. People have been faking high-end cars and everything else since the beginning of time. Ever visited a big city and been offered a pair of Oakley sunglasses for $10 or a Tag Heuer watch for $20? Fakes and imitations are everywhere. Women buy imitation Gucci purses and shoes. Men buy fake Rolexes and Armani suits. It's just the nature of things.

I say if you can afford a GT350, then simply count your blessings and enjoy the car. There's people in this country (many of them children and Veterans) who will sleep under a bridge and eat out of a dumpster tonight.

...a tribute to the revered GT350, the real deal. Here's one I saw at C&C yesterday morning.

Those are some cool badges. I'd rock them on the 5.0 vs the horse. Don't know about in red though.

Just a question with regard to putting items designed for one car on another, is there some reason Ford designed the track and R wings differently? If so won't handling be different if for example you put the R wing on an aerodynamically different car? Since these are functional rather than cosmetic, will this be noticeable especially on a track?

To me this phenomenon is most frequent in the Mustang world. You just don't see it elsewhere. Yeah some guys will buy body panels to convert the C6 to look like a Z or whatever, but you don't see other Marques do it. Not even camaros.

I think the aftermarket for Mustangs has always been there and has been so fast to react to what the market wants and develop a cost effective "me too" for the masses that at this point it's unavoidable. I would never do it because there's enough GOOD aftermarket out there to make what I want my own, but many will slap whatever it is on their car and be done with it. Part of it is also, again IMO, a younger owner base than other cars; perhaps their "taste" hasn't developed yet and they will look back on their design mistakes with "ragrert"

I have seen lots of base and inline 6 Camaros with Z28 or RS parts and badging.

I guess I wont post a picture of my golf cart or F150. People around here would have a hart a tack.

You're the only one who is taking offense. I'm just calling you out on the bullshit. If I was insecure, I would brag how owning a V8 makes me special and how I should pity Ecoboost and V6 owners, but the only ones I see doing that sort of thing are you GT350 owners. It's a Mustang, not an exotic. You need to realize that. BTW, it's not a Shelby, not a real or authentic one. This thread was started by some butthurt GT350 owner over some damn badge and how it's disrespectful to put faux GT350 parts on other Mustangs LOL.

Also, I don't see where anyone called anyone names.

This thread makes me laugh. Out loud.

So a nifty aftermarket badge just happens to be the same size and shape as the vaunted GT350 unit. Big deal. And somebody might like a spoiler enough to put it on their lowly V6. Again, big deal.

The only time I think it's dumb is if someone is trying to pull off a clone and pass it off as original.

The elitist attitude of some "Shelby" owners never ceased to amaze me when I had my GT500, and it seems not much has changed.... :headbonk:

I really have no interest in arguing with you. But I won't let you twist my words either. Re-read my first post. It describes my PERSONAL ideas on how I like to mod MY cars in respect to higher level models. I use the phrase "IMO"and "in my mind" several times. You somehow took that to mean Mustang owners should pull to the side of the road and kiss my Cobra badge when they see me? That reeks of insecurity.

You sir are a hypocrite. Everyone is here to brag about their car a little bit. You criticize my signature but your own signature shows what times your car runs:crazy:

You continue to show your insecurity saying the GT350 is not a real authentic Shelby or an exotic. I never used the word exotic, and do you prefer I type Mustang Shelby GT350 every time? It's just easier to type Shelby. Regarding the real and authentic Shelby comment. You are only correct in saying it isn't a post title Shelby. It's a Shelby because Ford put a Shelby badge on it, isn't that ironic;)
