Having owned 4 cars that typically have clones or parts used on lower models I typically just ignore it. Now if around and the owner tries to pass it off as something it is not I tend to comment. It's kinda like the people who own Chrysler 300's that attempted to make them look like Bentley's. Worked until a real one shows up.

It is often good for a laugh like the red GT with the 350 badges.

Wait I forget the same guys complaining are the ones with the build and delivery dates in their signature like it means anything. I guess they need to feel special.
No. It's very useful information for anyone still waiting on their cars.

Are 289/427 Cobra replicas "disrespectful"? Are 1960s Shelby Mustang clones "disrespectful"?
I'm rather "meh" about them. No real opinion. They're cool for a second but I don't get gitty over them. That's just me.

Not really, What would a 350R be without the larger splitter and the wing and cf rims? Just another GT350
Not just another 350 as it has a variety of different suspension components to include its own ABS and magnetorheological tuning.

Nothing wrong with it. As long as you know what's real and not. Those other guys just can't afford one. Have pitty on them...

kinda like a wide slice toaster vs. narrow. Still just another Mustang. A great Mustang, but still a Mustang. And they are all pretty great IMO.

Yeah because being able to afford a more expensive Mustang makes you a badass. LOL.

I'm with you. I prefer some structure and respect to higher level models. A pecking order so to speak. In my mind adding spoilers to lesser models is not disrespectful in general. I draw the line at hoods, bumpers, and badges. I added a track pack spoiler to my base Shelby and sold the tech package to a GT owner. Yes the R is a bit different in my mind too, it belongs only on Shelbys just because it's so distinctive IMO.
But to be honest the R spoiler is one of the truly aero parts off the R model so if you wanted to track your GT or Ecoboost wouldn't it be better to have the R model wing than a APC part from Pep Boys?

That is DEFINITELY the wrong way to go about it.
That's the type of person that we should have pity on. Obviously he believes having certain inanimate objects makes him a better or superior man. We all know that is sign of low self-confidence.

Thinking of putting a carbon fiber R wing on my GT350. Not replacing badges and tying to trick people into thinking it's an R. I love the look and it's functional. People can snub their noses all they want but we all do things to our cars that others will disagree with. I had the same feeling of apprehension when I was thinking about it but came to the realization that if I will enjoy my car more because if it who cares what others think. That's what makes Mustangs great, so much customization available.

No you mustn't do that. It will disturb the force of nature trying to fake a non-R to look like one as we all know the R is the holy grill of pure NA driving machine.

What about if someone puts the larger R splitter on their car is that banned also?
