so i have a rockford fosgate amp laying unused in my garage. pulled it out of my old rsx before selling it. im wondering if installing this would help my base stereo system out and whether or not it would be worth it. i already have most of the stuff i need, just need some speaker wire so it wouldnt be much cost to me just time. im just curious if anyone has kept stock base system and just added an amp and what needs to be done to make it work. thanks in advance.

I added a 3 ch amp with a sub to the base 6 speaker system. The low end improved drastically as expected but the fronts with 75wpc cut a 80hz was not very impressive. It just sounded flat and lifeless. I can only believe it is the speakers. I have moved on to OEM's harness and line level upgrade and have new fronts on order. I will know more in a week or two.

You didn't mention the model of your amp or its output, so its hard to give you a specific answer, but... the best bang for the buck with a base stereo would probably be adding a sub to the system.

Lemmon Valley FTW!

I agree with mumbles for best bang for the buck being adding the sub. Made me think though... Keep the systems balanced. Once I got my bass dialed in is when I really listened to the whole music. My bass may have been to much or too good for the rest of the system leaving the highs and mids flat. Would love to hear others experience and opinions on that...
