I'm assuming I can't be the only one that's decided to wait for the next model year? Don't get me wrong, Ford has done a great job with this car from what I've seen, but I'd like to see if they offer some better colors and color combinations (interior/exterior) and the availability of some other options that I know a lot of people would like to get. I don't exactly need a new car right this second, although the Jag XE now has my attention (Jag marketing always sucks me in) as a potential lease until m/y 2016 comes for the mustang.

I can understand waiting if you don't like any of the current color combinations, but what are the 'other options' you are waiting for? Are you one of the ones hoping that the Auto GT or Convertible gets the PP?

I understand those that are waiting because they simply can't configure the car the way they want it. But the ones holding out for a big power bump or any other significant changes for the '16 model year may end up disappointed. Anyone waiting for that stuff better be prepared to keep waiting until at least the '17 model year, IMO.

kind of hard to compare the features of a mustang to a Jag... I doubt mustang will ever match what you get in a Jag. Maybe a feature here and there but you'll miss something. If you want a Jag, get a Jag, but I really dont think mustang is comparable to a Jag especially if you're talking about features.

Mostly the convertible with PP, since from what I understand there are some parts of the PP that aren't compatible with the automatic transmission so I don't see that happening until the new dual clutch auto comes. Its just primarily that and the color choices for me. I was considering wrapping the car in the color I want right from the start and then I realized I don't really want to do that, I'd rather purchase a vehicle exactly the way I want.

I probably should have mentioned that the Jag's appeal to me isn't necessarily features, although the ZF 8 speed they have is incredible. Its mostly the fact that the sound that comes out of it is fantastic, assuming it gets the supercharged 6 out of the F-type, and the fact that as of late its just held my attention better since I can order it exactly the way I like, not within the bizzarre constraints of the manufacturers weird imaginary rulebook.

If they release a new set of colors for MY16-17 and I place an order for an MY15 I will probably jump off a cliff. About any other color could be introduced and I will probably prefer it to what we've been given thus far.

One of the cars I considered getting if I didn't get the Mustang was the F-Type Coupe. There are trade-offs in either direction. Obviously the Jag is 1,000 times better looking than the Mustang, but the two seater is less practical, and it's likely to be more expensive to maintain than a Ford.

Luckily I don't think I would be keeping the Jag long enough to encounter any serious maintenance issues that wouldn't be warranty covered. And I feel like the financial trade of at least in my case would be, higher maintenance and initial cost for the Jag which needs no modifications, and lower initial cost for the mustang which I would most likely spend a small fortune modifying.

I have to get a car now as I leased my current car in preparation for this Mustang. But...if the 2017/18 car is something like the 13/14 GT500 (from a HP standpoint) I will be selling or trading in my 15GT for that.

Better looking? Really? The Mustang 2 looks better than any Jag, give me a vinyl roofed Grande, or Ghia from the island of misfit Mustangs. All Mustangs look better than any Jag.

The odds of new colors are really high...Avalanche/battleship is already showing touch up paint...
