Mine is an October 2016 build car. 15000 miles, always garaged and seldom used in anything except sunny weather. I don’t have wider wheels or spacers. Today I noticed this bubbling on the front fender which I find rather disappointing as the 3 yr paint warranty has expired. It gives me absolutely no confidence in Ford quality sadly. My 17 yr old Volvo with 150,000 miles has no surface rust despite use all yr round. My wife’s 7 yr old 80,000 mile bmw is similarly unblemished despite winter use and also being American built. Do the steel panels on fords rust too or is it just the hood and fenders in aluminium? I am sorely tempted to get rid of this ford now.

Your warranty was extended to 5 years unlimited mileage. I know it's upsetting but that doesn't look too bad and is easily fixed. Probably would not consider dumping the car for this unless you are really unhappy with it.

I’m in the U.K. sadly so our paint warranty is 3 yrs and the perforation warranty is 12 yrs. I doubt they would class the metal as perforated all the way through.

Here is the corrosion on my hood , I know not the fender . But if your fender paint is bubbling there is corrosion. If the paint was to be removed there would be perforation into the metal . Hence should be covered by the corrosion warranty. Have your local dealer look at it and start a claim with Ford customer service. That would be the 800 number in your owners manual.

The correct fix is to replace the body panel due to metal contamination...it can’t be repaired, only replaced. It’s known as galvanic corrosion... since you are out of USA, yeah, most of us are unfamiliar with warranty status.

My 2016 was built in dec 2015 and Ford replaced hood last Month under a TSB at no cost . Service dept took pictures and 4 hrs later they called an said Ford would order new hood and my local body shop painted. No cost to me. TSB recommends to replace panel with paint bubbling.
