I know this has probably been brought up a bunch of times, but I have a 2016 GT with the 9 speaker system and was wanted to add a sub in the trunk to use with the stock sound system, what all would I need to get it to work? Also has anyone replaced the stock door and rear speakers with the PowerBass OE replacements? Any differences in sound?

I can't help you with either question but I ditched the 9 speaker system. Kept the head unit and added an Alpine R series amp, R series speakers and a RF Punch 12" sub. I spend under $1k and it is impressive!

I was in your exact situation. There is no shortcutor cheap way to get the bass. Best party is 9.speaker upgrade is straight forward with Idata when harness DSP + mono amp, front stage speakers only and sub in OE enclosure. Not cheap but transformative.

I recommend getting NOS or used amp that locates on OE amp location like Audison Bit8.9 and any 500W continuous mono block amp (they're cheap) to mount in trunk. Check DIYmobileaudio.forum the mid grade stuff similar to what I use sells pretty cheap there then eBay has new AP 8.9bit relatively cheap.

Anything else is a waste of time and money.

I currently like the stock setup as is, i would just want more bass and a little bit more volume with it, that’s why I wasn’t deciding on doing a full system, but just upgrade the OE stuff(minus the 3.5 door speakers, I already upgraded those) and then stuff a sub in the back

So would getting an amp that mounts at the OE amp position be a plug and play kinda deal, or is it a full on rewire everything? I’d rather not have to rewire everything, but if I have to, I will

For wiring I followed the instructions at the top of the page.

I made my own enclosure using the carpet from a wreck as the base. I have a pictorial thread on the process posted here somewhere.

More detail on why it won't work and/or what you didn't like?
Return on investment hugely disappointing. Good think the kicker broke down after 3 weeks and was able to sell the warranty replacement for $0.70 on the dollar.
