Is the wiring for the sub amp there? I think the amp goes in the spare tire well. I'll have the 9 speaker setup so maybe..

I tried searching for that subwoofer with the part number. No luck.

To be clear (for anyone else that may use this thread) the 400a also has a shaker system, but it's a 9 speaker. The shaker pro is the one with the sub in the back right corner. If you have package 401a you need the one with a sub cutout.
201A (EcoBoost)+ 401A (GT) 12 speaker systems with subwoofer in the trunk.

has anyone attempted to purchase one and manually wire it in to their base system? that factory sub is very convenient where it sits and is mounted securely. I want to add this sub to my base system but wanted to see if anyone else has done it 1st so maybe they could provide some insight. I also like the fact that it's amp is contained within the unit so no seperate wiring or having to look for mounting points. My trunk space is extremely valuable.

I didn't buy the Shaker sub but I did install a powered sub in the trunk on my Base system. Post number 4 on my build page will show you how to wire it if you go that route. Here's a link, hope it helps. http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17806

How much did you need for full coverage?
I just did most of the bottom and sides, as it is a PITA because of all the screw clips, holes, and grommets. I'd say I used about 30 square feet though.

I have a brand new Infinity Basslink II, that I was thinking of installing as a last resort if I couldn't get the wiring diagram for the OEM subwoofer or a harness to link into my base stereo. I also have the optional 4 channel amplifier for it that installs inside it. My question is can the OEM speakers take 35 watts RMS?

The amp is on the sub itself.
So the subwoofer amp for the factory 401A package attaches to that rear connector that SSLByron shows in his post?

And if that is the connector for the sub, how do you figure out which wire is which? From what I've read, the wiring diagrams are lacking(?). (Sorry, noob DIYer with just enough knowledge to be dangerous.)

I'm getting the 400A and wanted to add an after-market subwoofer. If I could just tap into that connector instead of running a power line and installing a LOC from the rear speaker inputs, I think that would make the job 10x easier.

Don't hold me to that as I don't have the requisite equipment to verify that it's the proper connector; that could be for another piece of equipment entirely that my package didn't include (Base GT).
