Actual Lap Times at Road Courses for GT350 & GT350R

Has anyone seen actual lap times in (pre-)production NON-prototype cars with the stock equipment?

The Multimatic cars don't count since they had to change out all the important bits (shocks, springs, wheels, tires, etc) of the car.

With this come from the magazine road tests first?

From what I've seen, the GT350R is making a lot more than 530hp. My M3 makes around 650hp but at 4klbs due to the convertible top and I don't have the traction issues that they seem to in a straight-line. I also have comparable rubber in the back.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. BMW was able to hit 414hp with just 4.0L on a basic PI cross-plane V8 (and 290ft-lbs of torque stock, which is a lot for such a little motor). I'd expect Ford to be able to do more with FPC, especially 8 years later.

GTR, GT3 RS (997), 458 Italia are in that realm. We shall have to see if it actually is true, but not entirely unreasonable since the Z/28 is in the 1:37.XX range.

Sorry for the wording, he posted the rumor today in another thread. Not sure when it actually occurred. Either way I hope they have some pros for the event in August and can get some official times.

Rumor Update: Laguna Seca

I posted Laguna Seca lap times up a few months ago, I'm not sure what time I said. However, I am pleased to announce that the GT350R has matched the GT-R and 911 GT3 at Laguna Seca. I believe I put it in the 1:36 range, which is just as fast as the Boss 302R in the last race at Laguna in qualifying...

That is incredibly amazing...

1:36 would just be phenomenal and put a Mustang into the world class stratum. That is GT3 territory!

Not exactly scientific, but I've been timing videos from Grattan and the best lap time I found so far was 1:26 and that was with a passenger while having a conversation. Dampers were on stiff, TC was off and tires were hot. The fast lap start at 10:10
