[FONT=&quot]I have a 2018 GT, 401a, A10, non-pp with active exhaust. I’m calling my dealer tomorrow about a problem I’m experiencing with the active exhaust. I usually drive in the normal driving mode, with the exhaust set in the sport mode. Recently, while driving, I’ve been getting an error message on the dash saying “Exhaust Mode Selection Not Available.” When I go to the exhaust menu, the setting has defaulted back to “normal”, and I cannot change to any other exhaust mode until I shut the car off and cancel accessory delay (open the door). When I then restart the car, I once again can change the exhaust mode to any setting, but eventually, the error message reappears.

I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this problem.

OP,

4K miles in two months on my GT with Active Exhaust and so far no issues. I am assuming the motor that controls the valves might be causing issues but that's a wild guess. Your car is under warranty, the dealer will take care of you!

I just had the same issue this morning with "Exhaust Mode Selection Not Available." I drove the car to work and restarted it over there, but it was still acting funky. Had the error pop up last week too, but it seemed to fix itself the next day. Probably going to call the dealer tomorrow if it's still not working properly.

Thanks guys. I talked with my dealer this morning. Apparently this is not a "known issue", and there's no TSB. I'm going to take it in for "diagnosis." Once it's repaired, I'll post the fix.

rubytuesday, my car was built on 12/4/17. Can you tell me when your car was built and whether or not you have the digital dash, A10 and PP? If our cars are similarly equipped and built around the same time, that info might be helpful to the technician trying to figure out what the problem might be.

I've got an appointment with the dealership on 3/26/18. They told me that my car is the first 2018 with an active exhaust problem for them so they'll be starting from scratch. Oh well......somebody's gotta be first.

My car was built 12/14/17, if I can remember correctly. I also have the digital dash, A10, and PP.

I started my car during lunch, and the issue didn't pop up.. It seems to be random I guess.

Mine too seemed to be random; however, I discovered today that when I save "track" as the exhaust mode in "My Mode", the error message appears pretty soon thereafter and then exhaust shows as "inactive" in "My Mode" until the next time I start the car.

Thanks for replying, and again, I'll post results after the trip to the dealer.

Since your car was built toward the end of "Job 1" and you're not having a problem, maybe it will end up being just a few of the early "Job 2" cars.

Thanks for the info.

Yah, yours sounds like it’s acting weirder than mine.

When it happened last week, I had less than 25 miles till empty, so I thought it had something to do with that. Since I basically have a full tank of gas right now, and it happened this morning, I guess it doesn’t have to do with low fuel.

I plan on trying to take my car hopefully this week or next week to the dealer, since my car is having some issues with creaking noises on the inside as well. I’ll make sure to have them look into the exhaust issue too while it’s there.

Just an update in case anyone experiences a similar problem (reference my original post) with the active exhaust system. I took my car in yesterday and got it back today. The exhaust is now performing as it should. I talked with the technician that corrected the problem. Ultimately, he had to perform an exhaust valve actuator recalibration to the sensor and clear a code (P2BFB). Why the problem appeared in the first place remains a mystery. Hopefully the fix is permanent. If not, back to the dealership.

I just got my car back today too. It’s been there since last Monday 3/19. They had to replace the whole muffler on mine, so they actually had to cut the muffler off to put on their new one with a clamp.
