Disclaimer: this is another random musing thread so no real point...

So today I woke up and headed out to grab breakfast at a local diner. My typical weekend routine... As I stepped out the door and saw my car it instantly brought a smile to my face, something about how the light hit it, and it's silhouette.

Hopped in saw the pony splash screen fired it up, that V8 sound and the rush of instant acceleration.

cruising down the street with the window down it got me thinking about how something as trivial as driving to a diner feels like an adventure with a muscle car. I have 54k miles on the clock and this car is still a rush to drive. I've never owned a car quite like it to be honest.

These cars are just honest and true to who they are. In a world of fakes, and a culture built on being passive aggressive, and pc having something thats just unapologetic about what it is a welcomed relief. It doesnt ask for respect, it just takes it.

Thats the thing about owning a muscle car that cant be quantified, cant be put on paper, and can't be replaced.

I know these cars are pretty much the swan song of a dying breed, and its a matter of time before they fade off into oblivion but i cant imagine what the world is going to be like when they're no longer around.

We get so caught up on the negatives, the parts that break, the rough edges, the insurance, the speeding tickets, the meaningless pursuit of power that we never take the time to just stop and appreciate just how awesome it is to drive these cars.

They make everyday an adventure, and that alone is worth the price of admission.

Just had to share that

Right there with ya. I drive a company supplied, fueled and maintained F-150 to work and home. I spend most of my time in the office amd don't necessarily NEED a company truck. But it has become part of my compensation. Don't get me wring, it's a nice truck, and I don't have to pay for any of it. BUT, driving it every day... ugh. I've taken to driving the 'stang occasionally on nice days. What a difference it makes in my day. I'm not surrounded by by work. I walk out the door, jump in and fire up the 'stang, and almost every work related though disappears. The stress relief I get from driving it, windows down to hear the exhaust, is incalculable. No matter what shit is going down either at work or at home, the Mustang always puts a smile on my face.

Drive on my friend, enjoy the ride.

Sad to think about their extinction. That’s one of the reasons I went out and got one.

My two previous cars were four cylinders and it’s hard to imagine ever going back. The power and sound gets my adrenaline going every time.

Exactly man.

I love that it's down for whatever. Wanna pull .98 Gs on a race track its down. Wanna cruise on a 1200 mile road trip? Lets do it...

I let my girl drive it every now and then just to watch the expression on her face. And its hilarious, every time she pulls off from a light or get on an onramp and start snatching gears she gets this serious look in her eyes followed by a big ass smile Lol

In almost the same spot as you. Company car provided for the daily grind and the mustang was purchased to scratch that itch and bring the pleasure back to driving. Thats why my plate is V8 THRPY lol

Even the stock warble puts me in a better mood.

The only question is, Borla S-Type or ATAK?

Same here on both points. If V8 muscle cars really do go extinct then I’m keeping this car forever.
