I have a 2020 base Ford Mustang and I just installed the 8 inch screen which came out of another 2020 Ford Mustang, meaning everything should be plug and play. After install I notice that the GPS and the map are not available, the compass is the only thing that shows. I have looked at several forums and none of the have a similar problem. Any ideas as to what the problem could be?

As far as I know the GPS antenna IS installed in the base cars, it was there in my '19 base GT. You may have purchased a non-Nav APIM.For reference here's an APIM with Nav (that I have for sale BTW), check out your part number for comparison. If I recall correctly, "371" parts do not have Nav

I was under the impression that any APIM swap needed to be VIN matched.
Yes/no?

Do you happen to know a OBD2 reader that works with 2020, I bought this one but I cant even connect it. It barely plugs and when I try to pull my cars info into the laptop it just does not work

Pretty sure this is the one I have. I don't know if you can do this yourself with forscan, don't know that you can't either...

No that's not true
Are you sure? I've read quite a bit about people having trouble getting the correct functionality (old and/or new) until the asbuilt data is corrected/updated.
Is that not basically the same thing?

Maybe I misunderstood what you mean by "VIN matched"... The As Built data does need to be tweaked via ForScan to enable things like the drive modes and fix the hazard flashers, etc. There wasn't any VIN info to change that I am aware of. Of course I could be wrong about that, but I didn't have to update a VIN when I did the swap.
