The blower is coming too. A full “traditional” exhaust system from front to back usually runs around $4–5k, and this setup falls right in line with the 8-4-1 system. My Ultimate long-tube headers alone were $2,700 shipped, plus the “off-road” mid-pipes at $600 shipped. Add a cat-back, and you’re right there in that same range.

I agree that the cost per horsepower isn’t as efficient as a blower, but the combination of both checks every box for my ideal street car. To me, she needs to be a triathlete—capable across multiple disciplines. That means having the distinct sound of the 8-4-1 setup and an extra 100 hp coming in around 4,500 rpm, with a linear pull all the way to redline—without the weight penalty of a Whipple or similar supercharger that adds over 100 lbs high up on the nose.

Add a few suspension tweaks and additional hardware and boom I am as happy as a clam 😬
$1k for my 2in ARH headers, $600 for MBRP 304 cat back, and built my own mid pipe section. You're talking silly money for an exhaust. I guess I'm just old LOL

You got a deal if you got a new set of headers for 1k, I have built 6 fox bodies/sn95s and I'm use to the numbers you are stating for full systems but unfortunately, I didn't come across deals like that. I agree the cost is nothing short of silly, look how much the Kooks stepped headers and full systems are between 3k-10,500 on their site..dumb money but it is what it is...but I'm sure you are paying for the name more than anything else. Side note, My NIB Ultimate Headers,Catted, and Offorad mid pipes,SS Low Profile clamps etc.., X pipe are for sale in the. All New In BOX- Lets make a deal :)

Is it possible to get those non-instagram? And I’ll repeat a previous request for videos of just some normal, moderate driving instead of full send every time.

Call me odd man out, but this engine almost never sounds bad full send. It’s possible to be entirely too dang loud, but still sounds glorious. The real test is normal driving, hitting those typical resonant rpm ranges under part throttle, etc, etc.

I'd like to add to the last post for some driving and pulls with the valves closed as well.

I just remembered…I had high flow cats with my Borla ATAK and stock headers for two days. Took the cats off and returned them due to some quality and fitment issues. But I do recall had that worked out and I kept them, resonators were going to be mandatory.

I have a set of resonators rtg in the event my ears say this setup needs it.... I'm not hearing it over the computer speakers but come February I'll get to the bottom of it. I'm curious about the internal design of the mufflers

Aahhh, that’s right, this system is tip to tip, mufflers and all, isn’t it? Does it retain the valves?

Yep, flange to tip, and it retains the valve as well

Happy New Year Everyone!

Quick update on the Concept 8–4–1 GT350R exhaust.

Before this inevitably mutates into a six-page Mustang6G saga full of screenshots, “inside info,” speculative dyno charts, and the guy whose cousin’s tuner apparently has access to the secret CAD files the rest of us can’t see—here’s the actual, fact-checked update. Consider this your spoiler-free version before the pitchforks, hot takes, and torque-law debates arrive.

It was originally slated for February 2026. I got a direct email from Concept, and they decided to hit pause, rethink, and actually refine the design instead of shipping something that only looks good in TIG weld photos or a CAD render. The revised system will feature:

  • Higher pitch: Because if your Voodoo doesn’t scream like an 8,000+ RPM air-raid siren masquerading as a V8, what are we even doing?
  • Full-bank O₂ sensing: Each sensor now reads all four cylinders per bank instead of sampling like it’s a 2007 mail-order header. That means cleaner closed-loop fuel trims, more predictable AFRs, and less post-install ECU therapy.

Downside: availability slips to March/April. But this isn’t a “we’re indecisive” delay — it’s the “we ran the CFD, reviewed the pulse timing, and saw a 10-page Mustang6G thread forming” type of delay 😎. In other words, someone nerded out hard so you won’t have to.

Figured I’d share for anyone tracking this. Personally, I’d rather wait a little longer for a fully optimized system than get a Beta version.

I have to say I'm a bit baffled by the idea of putting this 8-4-1 exhaust on a GT350 with a Voodoo FPC engine. The whole point of 8-4-1 is to create an FPC sound with a CPC engine. An FPC engine doesn't need that arrangement to sound like an FPC engine - it is one!

If you find some Youtube videos of the 1967 GT40's, they had 7 liter CPC engines but they sound very FPC, and that's because the cylinder heads had were reversed with the exhaust ports in the valley. That allowed the headers to reside in the valley above the block with the runners arranged so each header had balanced exhaust pulses, just like an FPC has.

So putting an 8-4-1 on a Voodoo won't make it sound more like an FPC engine because it already is one. All it can really do is change the "tone" of the exhaust - higher pitch or something, just like any other aftermarket Voodoo exhaust.

If that's wrong, what am I missing? Is this really about people with Coyote swaps fixing the sound?
