Thanks!

But yeah, Whether I like it or not, My record won't completely clear out for another 9 years.
Ahh shit.. is that one reason why your insurance was so high? Hopefully the Altima is less than $200 per month.

Sucks man

$700 a month, I hope you are joking, I pay $1000 a year for my new ecoboost and that pissed me off no end, my insurance on my previous car which was a supercharged grand prix was $500 a year.

I will say one thing, driving around in a lowered, ruby red, tinted window mustang in a sleepy beachfront retirement town sticks out like a sore thumb and the cops always seem to want to keep an eye on me, it pisses me off to no end.

The good news is the Mustang isn't going anywhere and it only gets better as the years go by if the improvments over the last generation are something to go by. When you're ready for another it'll be way better than the S550.

My brand new ecoboost is actually ~$500 cheaper for insurance than my 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 was. That car was running me $1600 a year with zero accidents, zero tickets. I've never even called my ins company for anything besides changing the car.

I insure four vehicles..

2015 Mustang GT full coverage
2013 Ford Taurus SEL full coverage
2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor full coverage
1990 Ford Bronco PLPD and comp [rarely gets driven]

I pay $170 a month and have towing and roadside service and rental car coverage all thrown in.

Hope your plan works out and in the end you see the light at the other side. Mustangs will always be around.

What in the hell are you guys doing if your insurance payment is 700 a month!? I'm 23 years old, been in a wreck (not my fault) one speeding ticket (10mph less) and my fiancee and I pay 165 TOGETHER. Adding in a Mustang GT would only bring it to 190 a month. Some of you are paying 300-700 a month!? That is INSANE

That's a D*** Car note... no No wait... That's TWO car notes AND INSURANCE!

I pay $300 a month, but I've also had a few tickets accidents... Have the highest coverage one can get and all my mods are also covered. Geez dude you sure you just couldn't switch insurance?

Well, $700 a month takes the cake. I have seen $400+ for guys under 30 in SoCal with a clean record. If you have at fault accidents/speeding tickets/DUI's/Just got out of jail/whatever. then a high premium is def. possible...

I have always paid crazy Ins prices. I pay around 200 smackers a month and have no ticks, wrecks and have a 830+ credit score. I get the least amount of Ins at 10/20 that the law allows. But i am in FL and the prices are insane.

I plan to shop around.

Damn, at $700/mo I'd be out of the car ASAP if that was my cheapest insurance option.

Sounds like you most definitely made the right choice. I'm sure it will leave you with a feeling of regret now that you've changed to the Altima, but remember that you made the choice for a very good reason and in the future you have plenty of time to jump back into a performance car when your insurance situation improves.

Wow, $700 a month? I pay like $1000 a year. Cop never bother me and they have no reason to anyway.
I have been pulled over on my bike for their "routine checks", but I have all my documents in order so they can't fault me but giving me a warning.
