that's if you can afford the 8-10K in price difference + insurance + fuel costs

agreed, I didn't buy a v6 purely for fuel economy...but the fact that it gets good mileage is a nice bonus. with a tune mileage is even better. mine is 2-3mpg higher than stock.
True, my Base V6 Convert was about 32K and Auto Insurance is much lower then with the V8 but fuel economy, should be a bit better.

I average 33.5mpg going to work, and about 29 coming home. I rarely drive in traffic....and I don't pay attention to mileage around town, but normally around town im seeing 23-25mpg...really just depends on the driving enviornment

I get about 23 MPG combined City & Highway. Readout typically shows 270 miles until empty on a full tank and the countdown starts as soon as the nozzle is pulled!

My average is 22.8 mpg (with about 2400 miles on odometer) , which seems to agree with hand calculation. It often shows 360 miles until empty with full tank.

On highway, I can get 35 mpg if I drive conservatively (according to the bar graph for fuel efficiency). Local driving can get as low as 10-15 mpg. It is very much dependent on how heavy your right foot is.

I'm getting almost 26 in mixed calm driving and I don't even have 2000 miles on it yet. Very pleased with the fuel economy, I don't have to fill up every week anymore.

My mileage(according to the car computer)-
When I first got my car (AT w/ 3.55) the first day put about 50 miles on it-
average MPG was 18.4
Now with 1200 miles on it 24.5
Mostly hiway driving (on weekends)
Not too bad in my opinion.

Usually city driving. When I'm on the freeway it's always traffic.

Heavy right foot.

Always drive in S mode.

Highway 28-32 mpg? Going 55 mph with a 30 mph tail wind? At 70 mph on the straight flat roads of Florida, never better then 25 mpg, ever! Stop & go City driving, I stopped checking, it was that bad.....Still, a lot of fun as a Daily Driver just so long as you don`t accrue to much mileage. Gasoline at under $2.00 @ Gal has taken away most of the pain but when prices return (as they will) back to $3.00 plus, it will begin to pinch. 3:15 Axle too, (not) the 3:55`s.

Never got above 26 mpg when I had my v6. Even on a long road trip cruising 60-70 the whole way.

I don't understand my "miles to empty" gauge, on a long trip yesterday as I filled 14.5 gallons in my Mustang, the gauge said 424 miles to empty. Can that be right?

Nope. its not possible to be correct. The Fuel Tank is not large enough. Max Miles until empty between 270 to 285 depending if you fill right to the top.
