Spartan and I thought it would be a good idea to start an mpg thread so that we could track the real world mileage of the 3.7.

My figures thus far: 3.15 gear ratio

87 octane 10% ethanol

Tank 1: 24.2 calculated by hand. 24.7 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading:~450 miles
10% city 90% highway 2hrs traffic

Tank 2: 24.8 calculated by hand. 25.1 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading:~650 miles
10% city 90% highway multiple 0-60 runs

Tank 3: 26.2 calculated by hand. 27.2 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: 958 miles
30% city 70% highway

Tank 4: 26.5 calculated by hand. 27.5 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: 1284 miles
30% city 70% highway

Tank 5: 25.1 calculated by hand. 26.1 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: ~1600 miles
40% city 60% highway with 1hr DC beltway traffic

Tank 6: 26.5 calculated by hand. 27.1 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: 1893 miles
30% city 70% highway

Tank 7: 25.1 calculated by hand. 26.2 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: ~2200 miles
40% city 60% highway A-little more aggressive driving habits as well.

Tank 8: 27.0 calculated by hand. 27.9 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: ~2600 miles
25% city 75% highway

Tank 9: 26.9 calculated by hand. 28.0 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: ~2900 miles
30% city 70% highway

Tank 10: 26.2 calculated by hand. 26.9 as read by trip computer. Odometer reading: ~3200 miles
30% city 70% highway

Keep in mind my "highway" is mostly country back roads.

Zack,

Please save me from knocking off the cob webs and refresh my memory on the mpg...never mind. Typing MPG was enough to knock off the webs. Next I'll be ask for the phone number to 911

On different note our v6 get just got in production.

Thank you,

DeColores

That's very nice for a V6. Thanks for sharing.

Huh... I guess Ford calibrated the onboard mpg indicator to over estimate the fuel mileage? My '13 v6 consistently shows 1mpg lower than the hand calculated numbers I get.

It depends on how you look at it. Trip 1 MPG is usually about 1mpg higher as I reset this after every fill up BUT total MPG since the factory (My trip 2 was set .2 miles after being built) is about 1 MPG below.

The mileage is looking pretty decent zackmd1. Surprisingly, your mileage is not too far off my versa, although I spend a lot of time between 70-80mph which my vehicle wasn't really designed for since it's more of a city car.

That's pretty solid! Are you able to track your average mph with each tank? That would give an even more accurate picture. Thanks for all your contributions! :clap2:

No problem! As for my average mph.... My speeds usually range from around 50 to 70 mpg. 50 on country back roads and about 70 on the highway. So my average mph for my normal daily commute would be about 58-60mph.

Is the trip computer able to display an exact average mph? Sorry for being such a data whore.

Unfortunately this is one of the things the trip computer does not track... Or at least I have not found where it tracks it...

Above 26 mpg is very nice for V6.
Especially good considering I deal with DC beltway traffic regularly.
