Ford Mustang 2015 V6 Manual (3.55 diff)
I have a V6 manual with 3.55 and I can confirm that in 6th gear I'm at 2200rpm at 70mph.

V6/AT/3.15:
1750 rpm @ 65 mph, in Drive mode.
1900 rpm @ 70 mph, in Drive mode.
Curious that 2014's 2.73 would be only ≈ 250 rpm less than the 2015 3.15.
I wonder if the top gear on the 2012's tranny would be different than 2015's?

Love to hear a 2014 2.73's RPM report.

That's about right where it should be. 2.73/3.15 = 0.86666, 0.86666 * 2000 rpm = 1733 rpm

I'm pretty sure the ratios are the same S197 vs. S550.

BMAc, I may be missing something...
The ratio's we have reported (at 65 mph) are just the 3.15 (1750) & 3.55 (2000).
With this data wouldn't we calculate/estimate a 2.73's RPM with:
2.73/3.15 = 0.86666, 0.86666 * 1750 rpm = ≈1,516 rpm's for a 2014 2.73 ratio.

I have no idea if the 2014 tranny has a different output final ratio than the V6 2015 tranny.

You're probably correct. As I said, it was a while ago that I drove the 2012 V6 and the ~1700 RPM might have been at 70-72 mph. I am nearly certain that the S197 and S550 have the same trans ratios.

V6/AT/3.55:
2000 rpm @ 65 mph, in both Sport and Drive mode.
2200 rpm @ 70 mph, in both Sport and Drive mode.

And welcome to the V6 convertible club! You are gonna LOVE it!!!
Thanks icarumba. Funny, I have been on the site a little over two months. I feel like a veteran, but I still won't have my convertible for another two weeks +/-!

Actually post here was just to revive the V6 mpg thread and topic. It was getting kinda dusty.;)

Any more real world average MPG reports? Not freeway or city notes, just average.

V6/AT/3.15, 90% city 10% hwy, 91 octane, ~900 miles on odometer. Averaging 17.1 mpg :(:(:(

Rarely do any spirited driving; leave transmission in D about 95% of the time. City mpg is terrible and I'm not seeing any improvement after 4 tanks of gas lol.

I usually average 22 mpg with 80% city driving. My best was 24 mpg when doing mostly highway on a road trip. But I'm not really to easy on my car either :D

That's really not bad for 90% city.

31.8 @ 75 mph is pretty good. Did you have a tail wind? One day I was curious about the mpg difference between speeds and tested it out on a very flat road in the desert. I literally went 50 miles w/o touching the brake or changing lanes w/ cruise set at 75. I started the test once the car was up to speed. I'd have driven further than 50 miles, but I noticed no change in the mpg between 40 and 50 miles and I wasn't headed anywhere. I know 50 miles probably isn't enough miles to give a definitive number. 800 miles, however, could be more accurate if you were at cruise speed the whole time, w/o dipping to slower speeds. Did you do any dipping of speed?
