So we can put 93 on ours? Manual said 87 only so I kinda stayed there but if it's fine I would rather put 93

^^^Give 93 octane a try and see if your "Butt Dyno" doesn't say that your Cyclone Pony performs better with higher quality oats!

^^^Yes, that's right. And don't forget that the car probably performs a bit better on 93 octane...yea I know, some of you Dudes are about to throw the "BS flag" on that claim of slightly better performance with 93... But this Old Dude believes it is so!
I agree. I only run 93. I tried 87 and 91. It's just not the same. I can tell the difference and it's not placebo. The car does perform better with 93 and it gets slightly better MPG so it pays for itself.

No you can run 93. I think the manual says it recommends at minimum 87 or something like that but that's all it doesn't say we can't run higher octane. Try 93 for a month or two I'm sure you will tell a difference.

I got my tank down to where it alerted low fuel, I filled it with 93 octane I don't know if it's just a placebo right now but I can tell a difference, feels more healthy when accelerating wish I knew 15,000 miles earlier bleh

I couldn't tell a difference between 87 and 93 before a tune.

I never noticed anything before a tune either. Even did tests. Nothing measurable...i actually noticed better mileage with 87. That was just my car though. I get better mpg on 91 and tuned for sure

Anyone notice any appreciable difference in overall MPG between using 'Drive' vs. 'Sport' mode?

I can't speak for power gains without actual testing but I can tell you that I have noticed better tip-in and smoother idle with 93 octane.

Did a 700 mile round trip today only highway driving from south Florida to up north.

First 350 miles, the meter was showing around 27 mpg whereas manual calculation turned out to be 25.68 mpg.

On my return journey, filled up the tank and I was surprised to see 29.3 mpg on the meter. By the time I reached home I drove around 350 miles on the ODO and still the DTE computer is showing 86 miles to empty. I wasn't driving slow either, average speed was 75-80 mph and occasionally bursts of 85 mph.

My car is around 5300 miles now bone stock. This V6 S550 has to be the most underrated !
