apologize for what must be yet again another ....

So a couple weeks ago I discovered I notice the sound of loose lifters tapping at 1-3k depending on variables.

this am - in quiet mode leaving the house when cold & im thinking hmmm too good to be true. tapping is gone.
So get on the feeder st, and switch from quiet to normal.
tapping is now on
back to quiet, and 2k rattle is 98% gone, only a bit of rattle here and there and quiet,
Back to normal and loud rattle back on.

So guess my workaroud is start in quiet, and once warmed up, switch to normal or whatever.

Thought I'd pass this on as for the life of me I cant see a corelation to exhaust restriction and piston slap/whatever ...

Fairly sure its not injector noise, I'm used to that from GDI cars. So injector pump I see has been suggested as well. Could be something that hasn't been noted before.

Youtubes of 2k rattle are subtle as road noise tends to mask it ... but did hear one where the 2k rattle recorded is what I'm hearing.

So submitted to the academy for evaluation ;)

Are you sure the rattle comes from the engine? These sounds can be extremely deceptive, they can often seem to come from a completely different direction.
I seem to remember reading some time ago about the active exhaust valves getting a bit loose and rattling, though I can't remember the exact thread. If it's the valves that rattle, that would explain why the noise goes away in quiet mode (valves shut, so they can't rattle) or after the car warms up (hot exhaust, meaning less play due to the dilatation of the various parts).

Do the active valves create a subtle rattle?

Sounds like the "rattle" is with the valves inside your active exhaust.

I can say that turning my exhaust to quiet doesn't do anything but make the rattle more noticeable since the exhaust isn't drowning it out anymore. It doesn't get louder, you just hear it better. Had a local performance shop that does a lot of work on mustangs look at mine and they felt that it was noise associated with the cam phasers and while annoying, not really problematic (at least on mine). Seems to be possible since different tunes on mine will make it much louder depending on what is happening with the timing.

I recently discovered my AE valves are rattling in my 19 GT. Has anyone experienced this and cured it? I just past the 3/36k last week so I'm sure it's out of warranty.

It's not horrible but I can hear it when the valves a fully open and I'm off throttle coasting around town. The sound reverberates off whatever I'm coasting past. Not a good look. @Vlad Soare @EFI @Whitedevil95

Exhaust is emissions related, and the Ford emissions warranty is 8/80k, whichever comes first. I’m pretty sure the AE would be included with “emissions” since it is the factory exhaust. Make an appointment with your Service Center or inquire with them. All of the Ford Warranties are outlined in the original Owners Manual.
