Finally got new to me 2016 GT PP registered, insured and inspected. Managed to drive 250 miles so far, 50 around town the rest highway, I'm also relearning the art of driving a standard transmission ! Ford certainly has come a long way
with the Mustang, ( my last one was a 96 GT ) it has a solid feel to it and fit and finish are excellent ! Car is very quick and feels power full, and handles like it is on rails. The ride is a little harsh but I attribute this to the over all horrible conditions of the roads here in Massachusetts ( worst I have seen in 68 years ) ! Although I got a pretty good jolt from some expansion joints. I definitely give this car a " thumbs up "and am very happy I bought ! And by the way I am coming from a 16 Corvette Stingray and will tell you the GT is way more fun !!!!

Why is it way more fun?

Based on your distaste for bad roads, I feel your pain (as Bubba would say). Anyway, I got rid of the stock wheels and Pirelli's on my base model. I got some nicer 19x10's and Atlas Force UHP tires. They are light years better in comfort, noise, and also in handling. The suspension is still a little bouncy, so I'm still considering a Steeda Active Strut setup, which is known for being a much smoother strut than OEM.

I also am looking at replacing the Pirelli tires but I was looking at Hankook Ventus V12 as I have used them before and was very pleased with the ride and handling. However you have presented me with an alternative with the Atlas Force so I will be doing some research.
Also thinking of the Steeda struts and shocks but think I will be doing shifter after I change the tires.

Crazy thing about those tires. They're designed in Ohio, then made in Thailand by leasing out a portion of a Chinese owned factory that also apparently makes some of the Cooper and Bridgestone tires. . LOL

Our stories are very similar, my last Mustang was also a 96 GT. My new Mustang is a 2016 premium PP1. It is a wonderful car, and I have put nearly 1000 miles on. The handling is stellar, I love the high revving nature of the Coyote. After a 200 mile cruise through the twisty roads of CO, I really bonded with the car. I find the ride is really compliant for a performance skewed vehicle, not super harsh. Welcome!

Ford performance track dampers and BMR SM760 rear shock mounts and it'll ride noticeably better.

You could also check your tire pressures and make sure they are not over inflated, lowering the pressure may help soak up the bumps a bit. Also you will get used to the firmer ride pretty quickly, I thought the same at first but I got used to it.

Congrats on the new car. White is the best color. I had the Hankook's on my 2011 G37X. They were pretty good in the dry and wet, not so much in light snow. That said although they were top rated at the time but they no longer are. I know nothing about Atlas, so not comment there. If cost is not an issue I would look at Michelin's (my choice) or Conti's. At a lower price point General and Firestone have some tires that are highly recommended on this forum.

When I picked mine up from the dealer the pressure was set at 40psi, much better at 33 where it belongs.

Nice looking car. IMHO white, red and yellow/orange look best with black wheels. White was my second choice behind Kona.
