Very happy with the Bilstein's so far, put some more miles on the car today. I also couldn't figure out all the differences between the many shocks available, so based on their experience I went with a recommendation from the shop that does the work on the car.
Replaced Ford PP shocks and struts, added Bilstein B6 shocks and struts to my H&R lowering springs on my 16 GT
today.Much happier with the ride now, not nearly as harsh as before.
Anybody running this combo? Thought I read some posts about this combo but damned if I can find them. If you do which Bilsteins and what are your impressions, have been running the springs and I am very pleased with them. Now looking to replace Ford shocks from PP package.
Don't know if you decided on who will be working on your Mustang but I highly recommend Wakefield Automotive in Saugus, they are located at 64 Denver St and can help you out with anything you want done to your car. Also not far from Lynn.
On another note I installed H&R lowering springs and am very happy with the results. The car's stance just looks right now, and it rides well. I think next upgrade may be Bilstein's !
Well I know I will get a lot of boos and thumbs down on this one but I replaced the SVE axle back and installed stock cat back system. A little louder than stock with the resonator gone and the x-pipe in its place. Even though the SVE was quitter than Roush it was still noisier than I could deal...
I apologize, I just re-read what I typed, should have said shocks/struts. And thank you for pointing me towards Bilstein, that's exactly the kind of info I was looking for !
Just had H + R lowering shocks installed 1 inch drop in the front even less in the back. No more diving front end when you hit the breaks and no more bounce in the ride. Now would like to replace Ford Sport shocks/struts with something that will improve the ride. What do you folks recommend?
Cobra Jet I am the one that started all this and my intentions are to go totally opposite of what you suggested. I have a MT82, staying N/A, and have no intentions of getting involved in any speed contests of any kind. Car is a daily driver with some road trips being planned, I do appreciate...
That's what I've wondering about too, will 3:73 to 3:55 make that big a difference ! Only modification I have made is an x-pipe and I may do a CAI and tune but that's as far as I will be going. My days of racing on the track or on the street are over, this is a cruiser and a road trip car.
I thought I had read somewhere that the 2019 six speed came with a 3:55 gear set. Also I don't have to give up the Torsen. I guess I was wrong it is the automatic that gets the 3:55, so I will address this question to any year car that has this option.
Thinking of going from 3:73 to 3:55 in my 16 GT six speed, looking for some feed back from any one who has this combination. I'm under the impressions the 2019s came this way.
