Hi Everyone,
I purchased a new 2022 GT500 last year, and ran into my first issue a couple weeks back.
Starting maybe 2ish weeks ago the car will make a grinding noise when lightly braking from 20MPH down to zero after the brakes have been warmed up a bit. When this occurs I don't notice any resistance in the pedal, but I can feel it slightly in the wheel. Hard, and/or fast stops produce no issue.
I took the car to the dealership and they were able to recreate the issue, but did not troubleshoot beyond inspecting it on a lift. They told me my pads look good, and nothing is bent or broken around the front of the car.
They also told me this is normal, because the massive brakes are stopping a lot of mass, which when done slowly, at low speeds, with light brake pressure produces the noise and sensation.
I'm not sure I believe them, so I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this. I have not had much luck searching the various forums and communities.
The car only has 7k miles on it, and it has never been tracked.
If it's not normal I'm trying to decide if I want to take the car to a local brake shop, or back to the dealer.
Thanks!
