I wasn’t sure whether to post this in the General forum or under maintenance but I figured it might get more eyes on it here.
Long story short I have a 2021 Mustang with the Roush stage 3 package. I’ve done some minor mods myself, mostly suspension upgrade stuff, and this past winter I had the supercharger ported for a bit more power.
Once I got the supercharger back and installed it I could tell a difference but I knew if I really wanted to notice anything significant I’d at least need to upgrade the exhaust.
This past February I decided to upgrade the exhaust and the fuel system. I installed Kooks 1 7/8 headers with the SS Green connection pipes going to a Roush X pipe mid pipe and Roush active exhaust mufflers. I purchased a Fore Innovations Fuel System Level 2 Triple Pump system and had it installed at a local shop.
After the fuel system was installed the automotive shop informed me that they were taking the car to the tuner to have it tuned and it would be good to go after tuning. This was around the beginning of April of this year.
Ever since the car went to the tuners it has been one humongous headache and just excuse after excuse from the automotive shop. They claim that since Roush locks their tunes that the tuner is having issues tuning the vehicle and flashing the new tune to the vehicle. They’ve been telling me this story for for almost 5 months now and I’m fed up. Surely someone has figured out how to unlock the Roush so that they can be tuned.
I’m just wondering if anyone else that has a Roush has dealt with this issue before and how they were able to get it resolved?
I just want my car back at this point, tuned or not. Between the automotive shop and the tuner I have been without my vehicle for close to half a year. Maybe it’s just me but I feel like that is a ridiculous amount of time for a shop to have a customer’s vehicle. It would be one thing if they were providing me a rental car, or another means of transportation while I feel like the tuner just continues his experiments on my Mustang
but they haven’t and it has been a humongous hassle having to share a vehicle between my wife and I for this long of a time.
PLEASE ANY EXPERIENCED TUNERS or anyone who has experienced this issue with the Roush mustangs reach out to me and let me know how this can be resolved!! I’m definitely willing to pay cash for viable and realistic solutions!!
