when will they release 2021 mustang facelift? So many other 2021 cars are already annonced why is the 2021 mustang Gt taking so long?
It's deliberate. They're holding out and I haven't been told that.

Note that the other vehicle built at Flat Rock ends production on October 30, 2020. Maybe production begins November 2nd?

Mach 1 production probably begins in January-February.

This is all good info, amk91 (and we really DO appreciate the Easter egg you supplied recently!!)

Info from another reliable source (and posted by Ace, here) has indicated the '20MY will run until December 2020, with the '21MY kicking off in January.

As for the '21MY facelift.......I'm still not 100% convinced it's coming. I think all the recent prototypes we've seen have been various Mach 1 prototypes (either that, or the facelift will use the Mach 1's new front fascia.....and I thought that was supposed to be unique to the Mach 1) They've all been based on GTs, with not an Ecoboost in sight. That being said, the timeline is ripe for a light refresh as indicated above. We had '15-'17, '18-'20....so '21-'22 makes sense. And it's what we had with the last two models years of the S197. Hopefully we'll see further spyshots soon which might give us more information.

At least you're not looking at Challengers...They just recently released a couple of the new 2020 colors and there is still one more to go. Yeah I know they are a couple months behind this year, but they seem to always be one of the last to release new models.

The only thing that still appears like we see a minor refresh is that MY2021 is delayed so much. If it was just a few colors, what is all the waiting about? Mach 1 could have still going in production later.
Also remember that the Ecoboost is discontinued with MY2021 in Europe, so all the spyshots of EU models are of course GTs. This could also mean only the GT could get a 2nd refresh while Ecoboost stays as it is in the US?

Won't all the regular 2021's look like the 2018-2020, and only the Mach1 gets the new bumper?

That's the million dollar question. As of now, we just don't know!
My bet is that the Mach1 front bumper we've seen is going to be the 2021 Mustang face lift with out the extended front spoiler and different lower bumper mesh inserts and different grill.

Then you just put the Steeda 2018+ front bumper fascia on it. It's practically the same as the new one on the Mach 1.

The bumper is totally different. The Mach 1 bumper has a differently shaped upper grille (so it's no longer way bigger than the lower grille), and totally got rid of the strange triangle airvents. Steeda bumper ist just a distored version of the regular bumper to me. You're much closer to Mach 1 look if you buy GT350-lookalike for the 18+ models

I agree on the grille shape, that's quite different, but I would still say the Steeda fascia looks more like the Mach 1 one than the Mach 1 looks like the GT350. The GT350 fangs are thinner and positioned more inward and obviously not body colored (although that can be changed of course).

I like the look of the Mach-1 front bumper much more than the 2018-2020.

Interesting, definitely November 2nd must be production start for a 2021 Mustang. Meaning a January launch, as first units to dealer is about 2 months.

My car was built in September and delivered in mid November. Thanks BTW. I hear that Fusion and MKZ production ends on July 30th?

Unfortunately, I have no insight as to production dates at Flat Rock and have to rely on good sources here and on Blue Oval Forums. The longer '20MY info initially came from member Ace, here. The information was actually initially referring to the EU models (with an assumption that it would mirror the US models). Later, this was backup up by a post on Blue Oval Forums which listed:

2020MY Mustang "Balance Out" date is 12/23/2020.
2021MY Mustang Job #1 Date is 01/04/2021

Take a look at this thread here:
https://blueovalforums.com/forums/i...oduction-week-scheduling-information/&page=16
Forum member Ice-Capades regularly posts Production Week Scheduling info and I queried him there. You'll see he asked the question of his Zone Manager and got the response above, which matches the info that Ace received.

Ace's thread is here:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...rts-jan-2021-dropping-ecoboost-engine.142514/

I'll admit, I was very surprised to hear the '20MY would be extended. I can't ever recall a time when the new Model Year Job 1 was in the same Calendar Year. Even with Covid, I expected no more than a two-month extension to the "usual" changeover date.
