My local dealer has an Antimatter Blue 2021 GT500 coming in. They are asking $20K over list (list = $74K incl delivery, NO OPTIONS). $94K for a car with no options seems crazy to me, but whadda I know. What are others seeing on these cars?

I personally think that’s high, but I just moved to Dallas and all new cars are marked up here. Even Toyota/Honda/Kia/Hyundai

Saw a $10,000 markup on a $40,000 Kia Stinger

Depends where you are at I guess

Norm in my area 10K over, I'm on hunt..but 10-20k over, I dont think so. I'll wait till winter. If purchase doesn't happen at msrp, guess I'm out, with no bad feelings, just sold ZL1.

Guess the flip question is how easy or hard is it to buy a GT 500 with cash in hand new today? Since the world is crazy and regular folks can't even go to a Chevy dealer and get a new Denali (folks I know shopping) puts dealers with cars in the drivers seat so to say. ;(

"Cash in hand" in an antiquated term with Credit checks and approvals literally take 30 seconds after they put your info in the system.

On top of that, some dealers get good incentives from partnership programs so they could make more money on a sale through their banks vs. your pre-approval or "cash" offer.

Calling around and finding a dealer that has or will have one available is the hardest part. There is already a buyer for EVERY car at almost any price point when it comes to the Shelby so I'm afraid, now you just have to rely on good, honest dealerships to move inventory. There's no way around cold calling anymore. The moment a car is put for sale at MSRP, it's gone.

Good question..long story short..ZL1 is bad a$$ . I'm blessed at my age to move around with performance cars, granted I'm not overly blessed...alot of OT at JOB. If your looking at one go for it, you'll be proud to own it. I have track record (personal issue) 3 years then looking for next fix. This may be my last buy..2.5 yrs I'll be in retirement. ZL1 is alot of fun.

Like wolvee said, cash isn’t an incentive for a dealer since the early 90s. Back then it would take days to get a credit approval and any time you walk out their door is an opportunity you don’t come back so a fat stack of Benjamins meant your were ready to buy today.
Dealers make way more money on financing kickbacks and manufacturers holdbacks than they would on depositing your $90K into a bank…which usually goes to paying the loan they had with Ford to even sell that car.

That seems high but I'm not sure what the current market is supporting in your area. I just got my 21 Antimatter Blue CFTP at 5k over sticker which I thought was fair. I traveled about 2 hours for it a local dealer has a carbonized grey base for $108k. The prices seem to be all over the place. Good luck it is a hell of a car

I like your name. Named after the Frank Sinatra song perhaps?

Probably what I should of said is "qualified buyer" my point wasn't to get hung up on using cash. Just saying it's hard for some folks just to buy a new car they actually want, model color options etc at many dealers now. So I'd expect most Ford dealers with a GT 500 are going to ask what they want. My short searching of the .com sites from 83k up to 120k for a 2021 GT 500.

Yeah my car was 97,000 also but I got 4,000 more for my truck and saved 6,000 on the sales tax! So it was not that bad besides this car rocks, its awesome!
