Last time that I checked GT350/R's have not rolled off the assembly in Flat Rock for some ~3 months now with no immediate plans to start up GT350/R assembly anytime soon but production of EcoBoost, 5.0, Bullitt Mustangs and Lincoln Continentals have been keeping it going just fine.

Not sure where FR is in the pecking order of profitability compared to other plants but can assure you that Ford did just fine on the ~47,000 GT500's built from 2007 to 2014.
Is that right? I wonder why the 350 isn’t being produced. Is it more of a tooling issue, or something were about to be surprised about, like a DCT R??

Wink, wink.

No way, of that I’m 100% convinced that is not going to be. 720WHP would be around 850-880HP so that would be just nonsense hahaha
Why would that be nonsense? The 13-14 GT500 had close to 700hp when they came out. If the new GT500 has only 720, that one will be for the fatcat. Another version will turn that red eye into a black eye, with more power.

Most people have no idea what it takes to bring a vehicle to production. I certainly didn't before I started working for the company. Concepts, designs, schedules, and deadlines are planned out over a decade ahead of time. Thousands of people from design to launch/plant process work 12-14hrs a day to make it happen for years on end. The amount of time and effort that goes into it would be absolutely staggering to the general public. By the time the vehicle finally hits production, it's been many years in the making plus has to be a fresh, innovative, and appealing to the general population which for the most part aren't "car guys". On top of that... except for the body, engine, and transmission you're relying on vendors to make all your parts so you have to constantly make sure they're producing correct/quality stuff.

Give some respect to the people that make it happen.
Cheers. I've reminded people of this before but it goes unheard or forgotten. The car is by far the most complex product a person owns, and one of the most complex products in the world to build. Only once you've experienced all the thousands and thousands of little details required to make one portion of a car/truck come to production in a way that meets targets with quality, do you understand it.

Even 720 crank Will make for a nasty mustang. That kind of power to weight. Should have it trapping 130+ from the showroom floor.

This. Since when did 720HP even at the crank became a slow car ???? Also that is with FORD's tune. Let one of the tuner's get a hold of it, and I am sure we will see 720 WHP

My GT350R w/electronics and full tank came in at 3701 without driver. A track package GT350 on the same scales that day came in at 3760.
I'm guessing that Track Pack car was missing some gas. Mine full bloat came in at 3780 according to that scale.

With some pulley, E85, long tubes, throttle body, and snorkel...maybe. If 720 is an accurate number. And 720 RWHP is 850 at 15% drivetrain loss. You're not getting 130 bonus powers by a tune alone.

Because it is. From Factory tune you won’t get a 850HP Mustang with better track capabilities than the ZL1 1LE at 75-80K. It’s just nonsense.

If these are the real numbers this is a massive let down. It weighs only 50 lbs less then a demon and has 120 less hp? The 350r was a great car it just lacked one thing. Power. So we were all hoping the gt500 would perform like the 350r but have more power but with this leak that is not the case. It weighs too much and has too little power to be competive. Ford never one ups the competion, they always get even. If there going to charge 100k plus and expect people to buy it it better be 770 hp plus and weigh less than 3900 pounds. If not just go buy a pp2 18 or 19 and throw a whipple on it and call it a day.

No joke there. You can already buy an 800hp '18 GT from Lebanon Ford with a warranty, for as little as $41k...

After watching the video of the S550 with the DCT tearing up the track, I still think this might be cool.
Am I a little let down with the HP and the weight? Yes.

But think about it, if it had more than 750, that would have been the number ford mentioned, not 700.

I guess the DCT is heavy...

Also reinforces how good a job Ford did with the GT350 and the R, both of which may be more practical for those that don't have uber dollars for consumables.

Dude, we know you visit this forum daily. Why are you pretending you don’t and received your information from “friends”? You’re like the guy on the radio commercials who’s looking into ED medication for his “friend”.

Maybe its 720 to the tire, and 650 to the tire.
Wouldn’t be surprised. BMW did this before. Advertised HP was actually WHP.

No reason the 5.2 couldn’t make factory stock, reliable, clean power at that level.

I mean, even at 720, it decimates the ZL1 and beats the HC, but it falls short of the Demon and RE.

It will probably still be faster than a demon without all the bolt ons. And definitely faster than the ZL1. But would love to see it have some serious margin.
