I bought one for my last car, installed it, and took it right off. The roads where I live a horrible, and a pothole can rip an entire lower control arm out of your vehicle LOL. For me, not worth the risk.

Well hell....i guess now i will have to give it a good looking over to determine how much i think it has a chance of getting ripped off.......

I didn’t mean to scare anyone from getting it. I know Don, and many others use it without issue. For me, I don’t change my oil enough for it to be even be worth it, the risk that is. Between that and the horrible roads where I live I decided against it.

Jaime: MAN, do I hear ya on the pothole situation! I don't know abou ripping a control arm off, <chuckling> but they're pretty bad.

And of course, now I'm thinking that I may convince myself to put the plug back in the pan.

Every six months seems like a pretty long time but it rushes by for me and since I never hit the mileage, I'm doing the deed at least twice a year. That said, you are correct, we're not talking about a half day's work to get oil flowing with a wrench. :-)

Can someone tell me how to remove the oil filler extension? Do i need to get out pliers, cause trying to unscrew with my hands is not working.

Got to Love amazon....1 day i have a fumoto. Now i see why the SX version is needed. It appears the valve should tuck up pretty nice, certainly above belly pan, but lower than pan. Still little risk but will give it a shot. To keep it as low profile as possible will swing it to one side as seen in picture and found a scrap piece of 90 rubber hose that i ziptied on for easier changes. HELL after looking at the picture i may swing it to the other side, assuming i can still use the lever and there will be nothing hanging low....

Only drawback i can see is I assume it will take little longer to drain seeing the size of the valve. But not an issue for me.

Valve installed, would not clock the other way. As you can see it hangs little lower than the oil pan but higher than the belly pan. I will try not to worry about it to much.

The bolt has an o-ring to seal the bolt to valve body, what seals the valve body to the pan?
Is there an second o-ring or nylon washer? None of the online photos show anything.

Awesome write up. Just did my 1st oil change and installed my Fumoto valve. Damn that's a lot of oil. Reminds me of doing my powerstroke. Seemed like It took an hour to drain the old oil into my neighbors lake. Even with camo face paint and dressed in a full gilly suit I was thinking "hurry...hurry..."

Just did our 2021 gt500 first oil change at 3300, would have done sooner but its used and last owner didn't do it i'm assuming based on the condition of the metal shavings. Surprised so much, yet similar to OP pictures at 1k miles. Assuming this is ok and if I do another oil change they shouldn't be in there any more?
