Tob,
Do you know the dia and thread pitch? I have a couple of spares for my 2013 and was hoping they would work on the 2020. It looks like the 2013 is M12 x 1.75 UHL 24.5 mm.
P/N: 9L8Z-6730-A $3.72
2020 Plug - Oil Drain - Ford (EJ7Z-6730-A) $16.16
Edit: I pulled it out of the sealed bag in order to get accurate measurements.

@Epiphany - Tob
What is the O.D. of the shaft in inches? Mine is .465" which converts to 11.81 mm. The reason I ask is that the 12x1.75 die that I have is to small for the drain plug thread.

I like to disassemble things.
It's M12 x 1.75 with ~23mm UHL.

Ohhhhh, a new design. I like this one. I may have to get it. They put some really nice innovation into this one. The retention clip may be the icing on the cake.
It has to be the “SX” version to fit. I don’t think we need the extension. I just went with the one noted.
Ordered directly from: https://industrialtecsupply.com/ to make sure it was available.
Can get it from Amazon for a couple bucks cheaper. But they ship from the same place.

Once again, do appreciate the info, Don and like many I'm sure, I don't know HOW many times that Fumoto popup ad has jumped out. <grin>

Anyway, I took the easy route with Kamazonski and got one for the '14 while I was at it. Good tip on the SX, you were reading my mind. Got a bag of caps, too.

I just wanted to pass along that each one of us received 42,000 Fordpass Reward points when we purchased our car. This equates to $210.00, which can be used to purchase parts and accessories at your Ford dealer. I just wanted to pass this along to everyone, as I forgot about it as well.

Today I ordered a case of oil, and an oil cartridge housing (which comes with a filter and O-rings) to have on deck for my next oil change.

How many points did you use on the order?

I have 126,000 points because I purchased three new Fords in the last 12 months. They showed me that equals $630.00 cash value. So, divided by three cars, I assume each car purchase earns 42,000 points, or $210.00 cash value each.

$210 divided by 42,000 points = .005¢ per point

They ordered my filter housing, and will call me when the the parts come in, so I didn't complete the transaction yet. Parts should be around $180, so that should leave a balance of $30 (6,000 points) for a one car purchase (42,000 points).

Sorry for the long answer / math lol

I have a question about oil changes, if you do your own oil changes does it disqualify you from the factory warranty coverage?
Hell no. Do it yourself and know its done right.

You do need to maintain a record of the oil changes you do.

Jim: Your friend doesn't need to do that, as Tom said. All that is necessary is good record keeping, i.e., receipts for oil and filters and they have to be meet the specs approved by Ford in the manual.

Ok gents,
What is the proper torque setting for putting the oil filter canister back in place? And do you torque the oil pan plug, is so what is the foot/pounds?

Thanks,
John O

Got my car in early july, registered it officially with the app like two weeks later. Still at 0 points.

Edit: Seems the register date was the 3rd of this month, will wait a couple more weeks before I call them about it.
