I tend to use K&N filters (air & oil) in all my vehicles, and they make an oil filter for the GT500.
Part number is PS-7037. Rock Auto has best price.

Good to know, Don, I completely forgot about them even though I've used them previously. Didn't much care for the "cleaning part" though so I went back to FOMOCO. I presume that was only for the older air filters. :-) Can you imagine trying to clean that oil filter cart? HAH!

Yah, no cleaning oil filters, that’s for sure. Just pitch those.

Tomster,
Where did you order the oil from? And does the $106 include shipping?

Thanks,
Jostrom8021
My post was a hot link. The price went up again. Keep watching amazon. The price goes up and down a lot.

Rock auto is cheap too.

I like to disassemble things.
I always like to have oil on hand, just in case, and talk of price motivated me to get another case for the next change.

And I like to have a few "just in case" parts in the car somewhere. The drain plug I ordered was on national backorder but I did get some other items in the meantime. I picked up another oil filter housing and it also came with a filter in it..

Because if you drop the oil fill cap it may disappear into the abyss at a time when you can't pull the bellypan off..

And because I'm short a few bellypan fasteners I went ahead and ordered a bag (which is really only a small sample of them) of each different fastener.

Tob: First, your latest avatar is SUPERB. IMHO, his absolute best acting, ever, what a great film.

Secondly...

Ford may not be selling many vehicles at the moment but me thinks you're gonna keep 'em business buying parts. :-)

The fasteners are obvious and I wish I had a bag of those on hand although I haven't noticed any missing yet but then, I haven't given her bottom a close look see yet, either.

But why another oil filter canister?

Composite or nylon can fracture and you may not see it. It could happen if there was debris in the threads and you were tightening away, etc. If it was ever to happen to me I want to be prepared. Or if I were to lose the darn thing when off. You never know.

Tob, when you get a chance, can you post some part numbers? The on-line sources are pretty worthless at this point when it comes to part numbers and information.
Thanks
Earl
