I'm willing to bet that Slippery Hands Johnson has dropped any number of hood pin nuts on the assembly line which then made their way down to the tray. I'll bet I'm not the only on that finds one of these laying there.
When I change the filter. I put the filter in the canister, fill it with fresh oil, then install. This prevents that split second of oil loss filing the filter on first startup.
@Epiphany
Tob, was there any residual oil above the filter to worry about? The new setup looks like a lot cleaner procedure than my 2013, that was always interesting when it came time to change the oil.
The way this engine integrates with this chassis makes for a rather awkward filter angle and it would have been nice to have seen Ford address it and make oil changes both easier and much cleaner.
@Epiphany Any info on the brand and where to buy the funnel you used on the GT500.oil change. Looks like it was made to specifically fit in the oil fill opening for the GT500. Thanks in advance
Hey Chief.
Nah, nothing special. Just a generic funnel I found at Autozone. I had plenty that fit inside the valve cover but this short one with a generously sized bowl worked perfectly.

You all are so awesome. I was worried about what is needed to do this job and voiler and y'all stepped up. Since this is my first Mustang in 35 years and NOT knowing what will make this job not have 5 trips to the ZONE gives me confidence. THANK YOU.
This may sound dumb but... where can I find the filter and oil? I live in a small town and even the Zone did not have the filter and oil. The filter is not in their catalog yet.
Thank you in advance.
