Hey guys. First post on M6G. I have a 2020 Mustang GT 10speed and I bought a few parts for it before I head to gatlinburg for slammedenuff (10days out) and I need help. I bought a GT350 manifold off marketplace for $300 and I’m doing the imrc delete. I’m using bama tuners as my tuner because of their free tunes for life thing and I’m always buying stuff and switching it out. But they don’t offer imrc lockout tunes. I have a friend with HPtuners that said he could tune for the IMRC lockouts. My question is will having bama tune everything accept the imrc work while my friend does the imrc side of things. Would going with Lund tuning be a better option even if I’m not sure that I’m done modifying the car? Anything information helps. Thanks in advance!

What exactly are you trying to get out of a tune?

Bama will most likely lock their tune to where your buddy can't make additional changes. However, there are people out there that can unlock them, for a fee. I'm not sure you'll be happy with a Lund tune either. Personally I'm a fan of self-tuning because of the amount of total crap I've seen in "professional" tunes.

I used palm beach dyno, they do the lock out and offer further refining of the tune.

Just get a tune from Wengerd and that's it, he can use your Bama tuning device. Tunes from Bama is the worst way to go imo, I also had them for the first couple of months when I just bought the car.

Don't get fooled by the Bama tunes for life sounds good but they are a little bit above stock. Just get a good tuner and be done with it. This isn't a cheap hobby

I’d love to tune it myself but I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to that. I also don’t wanna pay for credits everytime I get a new part

That’s not how it works. Once you’re in you can revise as many times as you want. I’ve revised my cars file literally hundreds, possibly thousands of times.

Edit : another reason I went with was I thought it was the cheapest way to switch from e85 and 93

ok so I have the sct x4 so can I use hptuners to write a tune and use my x4 to install it or do I need the mpIV? I’m assuming I’ll still need to purchase credits

Went with Wengerd they helped me all the way through the tune and even helped diagnose mistakes I made in Installation.

I used Auto Mafia Racing with the lock outs, and they will keep helping you until
you have as much out of it as you can get. They support SCT 4 devices. Check out their website for prices.
