In the 2020 GT350 sales brochure it states:

Shelby GT350R

Ford Performance has deleted anything that adds unnecessary, performance-robbing weight, or causes parasitic power losses. Deleted content on the GT350R includes (but not limited to) rear seats, air conditioning, audio system, floor mats and rear-view camera.

Pretty hilarious stuff from someone at Ford that came out with the attached information for a 2020 R. :cwl::cwl:

I dont see the humor. What kept the base R seperate from any other R variant was the backup camera. How much can that system weigh? Remove the radio and A/C and you essentially have a base R like a few of us have. There goes the neighborhood....

Me? I find humor from an ironic point of view. You?

Tomster . . . I am new-ish to this forum but sheesh . . . give your Harry-harassing a rest please.
Harry harassing? I was going to have christmas eve drinks with him in Scottsdale had he been available.

Let me be clear. My anger of Ford has nothing to with my friend Harry. He has been a friend over the years and he can call me anytime for anything and I would be there for him. He is a stand up guy.

Now another thing about Harry is that he is a firm believer and staunch advocate of Ford and everything therein. I respect that. My back and forth discussion with harry is between me and him. We both own base Rs. You dont.

Mind your business.

I don't know why ford couldn't build more base cars, they would have to have a rear view camera, that's all.

Edited to add: That image looks like a photoshop. The lines do not match up. April 1st comes early this year

Curious to know how many of the Base R's were dealer ordered & consumer ordered. Another line of thinking would be the Base R's that were dealer ordered how long did they sit around before being purchased?
Thanks

This is directly from the 2020 GT350 brochure. I added the red square outline to highlight the information I was asking about.

I'm guessing this is a misprint. The base cars were discontinued do to the mandated back up cameras in 2018.

Interesting. Can you take another photo? I am seriously intrigued.

I wonder how this section regarding the 350R compares to the brochure during the years of the Base models?

If this is true, Ford is a complete mess. Why would they not publicize this?!?! I think some people would not have minded paying the bogus 5K increase if they brought back the base models for one more year.

I bought a 2019 R in August. If I had known they were making a Base model in 2020 I might have waited till this year.
